Hi everyone,

Was going to get my little boy a skuttlebug for Christmas. Then my partner mentioned a 3 in 1 trike type thing (will post pic below)

Does anyone know of any good ones or what would be the best thing to get? Want something to last the next year and that he will get use out of for a while....

What's your thoughts?

Thank you x

I had this exact one for my DD and despite my best intentions we hardly ever used it. That will be fine size wise for a good while, my DD was 3 in August and could still ride it as a trike then, it's just so bumpy on uneven ground you feel like you're going to rattle their little teeth out!!

Is he just 1 or closer to 2?
Scuttlebugs are good or maybe a micro scooter if he's closer to 2. Or possibly even a lightweight balance bike. Trikes are ok if you don't mind doing the pushing, it's a hard skill to learn for most toddlers and not something they have the strength for until closer to 3.

We’ve had 2 SmartTrikes. Both were difficult to steer, uncomfortable to use, and broke within a few uses. They promise so much, and deliver so little.

We really liked Toddle bikes though.

I bought my 1yo a Wishbone but he never used it unless I pushed him around on it. I think 1 is a bit young tbh.

I've personally always avoided those trikes, I really don't see the point of pushing a baby upright down a path by a stick!

My DS has a scuttlebug at 1 and loved it, used it both indoors and on the patio outside.

As PP said, you could also look at a mini micro scooter from 2. You'll get use of that from 2-5 then can sell on as they hold their value well.

We had a micro scooter with a seat. SS used that between 1 and 2 and could go for miles on it. We live in the country so it made a huge difference having something good quality that he could use on uneven ground without losing his front teeth. He moved on to a cruzee at 2. He's never really been that bothered by the scooter but it was worth every penny when he used it with the seat on

We barely ever used ours and it was a nightmare to turn.

We bought it from a selling page though so didnt pay a huge amount for it. Maybe an option?
Dd's scuttlebug however she LOVED (shes still using it now and is 3 and a half 🙈)
