Watch out for the pre Black Friday weekend price hike!!

There are a couple of items I will be looking to purchase this year and a bit of research has suggested that one of them may well be offered at a good discount. Today I checked a price comparison site and found the item to be between 70 and 80 pounds more in price than it was two days ago at seven different retailers, including Currys, the best known.
I have heard about these pre Black Friday price hikes, done to make us think we are getting more of a bargain than we are during Black Friday weekend, but this figure did shock me a little.

Good tip!

Difficultcustomer · 23/10/2019 21:12

Thanks for the tip, suspect it will apply to high street as well as online.

This is worth knowing. I was actually going to start a thread asking if anyone knew about pricing and sales reductions.

I have lots of clothes on ‘wish lists’ and wait for them to come into the sale. I guess that loads of other people do the same. So what percentage is buying at full price, and what at discount?

Barbarara · 24/10/2019 07:27

Thanks for that.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 07:30

Yes, I think they have to be higher for 28 days to comply with advertising rules re discounts. Very good tip!

Ahh, I was wondering how that pride rule worked! I am now not going to buy anything until during or after the BF weekend, very annoying!

It might be 35 days. I know there ARE rules, but I haven't memorised them! 😂😂

Allthematchingchristmasclothes · 24/10/2019 11:17

What date is Black Friday please?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 11:20

The Friday after Thanksgiving.
