Was thinking of getting my 4yo dd some of these for Christmas. Where do I start. Which sets do your children like.

I got second hand bundles for my kids. It meant they got more variety and lots to play with. They love the house and all the furniture

I agree with getting a second hand bundle otherwise you'd need to spend a fortune to get a decent amount to play with. Check Facebook market place or ebay

Maybe a house or vehicle to start, some furniture and a couple of different families

We've bought a wooden dolls house & furniture and a rabbit sylvanian families family to go with it! I think it'll be a hit. ☺️

My daughter has been asking for the nursery bus for the past 2 months (she's 3 1/2) so she is getting that plus the nursery friends set and a few other family sets

The cosy cottage is good value as you get a building, furniture & a figurine.

Theres a starter cottage with a small amount of furniture and a figure.
Ideal for a first buy.
The other sets are expensive and small parts can be easily lost ,may suit an older older child better

Keep an eye on Facebook selling sites for them, they are soooo expensive new!

I also recommend the Cosy Cottage set. You can get it for less than £20 and it comes with a figure and quite a bit of furniture.

I'm not a mother but, I recommend getting the Cosy Cottage starter home as that's on the sylvanian families website.

I've been collecting sylvanian families for about 10yrs since feb 28th 2008-June 17th 2017. And I feel that your kids will love playing with them! The cozy cottage starter home is some to start off with as a new collector and it also comes with Freya Chocolate who is known to everyone so your kids will learn more about Freya than anyone else!

If you haven't heard of Sylvanian Families, they are basically: "animal shaped characters that love nature, work, Play and love and also live in a world that is designed just for them! Sylvanian Families also help kids develop their own skills, knowledge, emotions and love whilst during play and developing their imaginations!

My dgc play with their mother’s and aunt’s old sylvanians . They do last well .
Smallest (3.3 years ) is having a good as new grocery shop and a new figure for Christmas .
Middle gc ( 7 years ) had camper for her birthday .
I do agree the simpler sets are best and second the Cosy Cottage .

We bought the cosy cottage starter set almost 2 years ago now, it’s lovely and not too much money just incase they don’t like it. Be warned, if they do Like it, it’s so expensive, (but secretly I don’t mind because I always wanted some growing up so buy half of it for me anyway ) have you seen the hedgehog family?!

Our newest are the Persian Cat family .

They have just realised a few houses as “red roofs” the difference being that you can put the houses on top of each other - you can’t with the old ones.

Saying that we bought a huge hotel , caravan, figures and house for £35 on eBay , so look out for bargains

There are usually some good deals on Black Friday. The Sylvanian Storekeepers site is worth checking for big bundles such as a building plus family too
