Can anyone recommend a christmas/Winter read where there’s lots of log fires, wine, definitely snowed in and romance/sex?!

Winter Solstice by Rosamund Pilcher. All of the above. Very cheering.

Tobebythesea · 21/10/2019 14:22

On the list. Thank you.

Twelve Days of Christmas, by Trisha Ashley, just what you are asking for.

Slaymill · 21/10/2019 15:00

Christmas Days 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Day even the blurb says
Read these stories by the fire, in the snow, travelling home for the holidays.

Festive Spirits Three Christmas Stories Kate Atkinson is a new one and also a short stories book is Round the Christmas Fire: Festive Stories (Vintage Classics).

Also The Snow Queen to be read with homemade Turkish Delight none of that shop stuff www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/dec/10/how-to-make-the-perfect-turkish-delight

The Night Before Christmas - Scarlett Bailey.

Thought you were talking about the book Snowed in
It's a children's book but I read it most years for the nostalgia. No sex but everything else.

Tobebythesea · 21/10/2019 18:52

@Slaymill Wink I love Turkish Delight!

Gosh I think I had the Snowed In children's book...

Slaymill · 21/10/2019 19:21

What good taste you have @Tobebythesea it can also be enjoyed with the The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe another cosy fireside read.

“It is dull, Son of Adam, to drink without eating,” said the Queen presently. “What would you like best to eat?”
“Turkish Delight, please, your Majesty,” said Edmund.

Would second the Trisha Ashley book. It's such a lovely book and even has a couple of Christmas recipes in.

Nothing to add but following for suggestions.

Sarah Morgan has done some good Christmassy, snowy chick lit novels! I think the one I read was called Maybe This Christmas but I'm sure she has written others in a similar vein.

MustDust · 21/10/2019 21:22

Definitely the Sarah Morgan ones, new one is out this week and I can't wait. Trisha Ashley is always fantastic too but less sex than Sarah Morgan.

Snowflakes over holly cove was a nice read
