DD is 6 and loves reading, riding her bike, drawing notebooks imaginative play
We have buckets of Lego from her brother's time
The playmobil never quite got going with her
She never really asks for anything so any ideas are welcome
Last year she got an Alexa and LOVED it. She also has a Kindle Fire

A barbie sized dolls house ( the actually barbie doll houses are flimsy and not worth the money). KidKraft make some excellent wooden ones complete with lift for the dolls and sounds/lights.

A really nice dolls house is a great idea from Marmite. Mine have always loved them.

Other ideas could be an easel and a load of nice art stuff.

I second the art stuff. My little niece was given a huge drawing/painting set. It unfolds to reveal dozens of pencils, paints, paintbrushes and colouring pens. She loves it and it's given her many happy hours creating art and making cards.

My DD sounds has very similar interests to you and has fallen I. Love with a Maleig mouse that she bought herself so for Christmas I’m going to buy her the mouse house and a few more mice.

My 6 year old got Hama beads last year and still plays with them most days - mostly just to make patterns then tip them back into the tub rather than for ironing 🤔

This year she's getting a build your own charm bracelet set, giant colouring set (2 for £15 in Argos), a Barbie ambulance and a set of Roald Dahl audiobook CD's.

My dc loved a secret diary at that age.

Other things that went down well were a micro sprite scooter, roller skates and a Melissa and Doug magic set.

I've just bought mine one of these. Framed that u make a sequin picture on. They use pins so I'll have to sit and do it with her but she will love doing it.

Lc2006 · 20/10/2019 19:37

Also some schleich Unicorns from toys and learning she loves imaginative play and will play with these for hours

DD1 has just turned 7. Amongst other things, she's getting a lightbox for tracing, and a sunography kit.

Would she like some dressing up bits and pieces? We added to DD's dressing up cupboard with a small vintage suitcase last Xmas, a gypsy crystal ball, some decent dress up shoes, a Spanish fan - more grown up costumes. She also loved an airline travel kit DH bought home.

My 6yo (nearly 7yo) wants an explorers kit for her adventures and treasure collecting.

Our other ideas for her a basketball hoop, books, dinosaur skeleton kit, craft stuff.

Looking at a magazine such as National Geographic Kids to share with her sister (8yo)

One of her favourite toys is her doll (not a baby DL, the design A friend's, My generation etc style things which come with various playsets, outfits etc).
