So a none English Amazon site

I don't speak the language on the site and I'm worried about fucking it up

Will my UK account apply?

It's a toy that I found really great for another child but it's now only available preowned in the UK

I found that it is still for sale in this country
It's for children who live in that country and speak that language so perfect only I don't speak the language well enough to place an order I don't think 😂

Has anyone successfully ordered something from a none English Amazon site

Which language? Can we help?

I can't order it yet I need to actually place the order closer to Christmas so it arrives early December

It's Spanish

Check the settings. You should be able to switch to English. I use the German site and after a first aborted attempt trying in German I found I could switch it to English. Much easier

I've ordered things on French Amazon, chrome automatically offers to translate the page for me, I think I might have set up another account to order from there but I'm not sure, if I did I used the same email as I do for my normal account. It was exactly the same as ordering from the UK site once I'd translated the page.

I can't change the language but I think I've got it! I was about to buy it and get it sent here but best to wait I think !

Just enter your usual details and amazon should recognise your account.
You can always cut and paste text into google translate if you can’t figure out how to translate the page.
Watch the shipping charges! I’m in Ireland so used to trying to figure this out, so I put one thing in basket and go all the way to the last step to see shipping for that item. If I’m buying more than one item I do this for each item.
Even if you’re working through another language the steps and page layout is the same so it’s not too hard.

I often use my German Amazon account but a) postal charges can be huge and b) if it is not bought directly from Amazon some sellers do not send items abroad.

A word of warning a out buying in December, I had several times issues that parcels to my family were delayed from end November onwards, a normal postal run to Germany is around 2-3 days, last year it took over 2 weeks. One year it didn’t arrive until after Christmas.

If you don’t want to have a disappointment would order earlier.

Is it anything electronic? If so, be careful about chargers. Battery operated should be fine.

I've done it from Germany I'm sure you can go into Amazon setting and pick your language.

However I'd order now. It might not be so easy to order from Europe if we crash out the EU.

CupCupGoose · 20/10/2019 12:31

I've done it a few times and it's been fine.

Good point about Brexit I hadn't considered it 🤔

I’ve ordered through amazon Germany a few times. I bought the Luvabella doll from there this week. It was cheaper than from the uk. I have a separate account for my uk amazon than I do for my Germany one, I don’t speak a word of German, I type amazon Germany in English in the google search bar and it comes up in English,

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/10/2019 20:09

I’ve ordered from the French and German sites.
I speak French but not a word of German.
The app is pretty intuitive in all languages and just use google translate for words you don’t understand

Just be careful about waiting - things do sell out.
