My 3 year old, who has a birthday in Christmas week, has an older brother and lots of hand me downs.

I've figured out a big Christmas idea the Duplo Train. But really struggling for smaller extras, ideas for Aunties, etc.

Torch, bug hunt kit, den building, binoculars, paints, craft things, new backpack. I’ve the same problem!

We are going with mainly craft stuff, card making kit, cupcake kit, kinetic sand, can never go wrong with books - I have a few individual ones I want to get for DD but going to ask for Peter rabbit collection, fancy dress?
I'm not getting her any toys.. we've so far got pyjamas, umbrella, bath bombs, stamp kit plus the things mentioned above.

One of those cardboard igloos from hobby craft? Lots of enjoyment and then it can eventually be recycled.

For my 3 year olds birthday we got him a goldfish as his main gift and then sticker books, colouring books, some plastic farm animals, marble run, jigsaws, and kinetic sand.
That was from the whole family not just us.
For Christmas we are just doing little bits as we are imminently due our second. Mainly clothes and a few craft bits. He has so much there is nowhere to put any of it. I know my mum is getting him a football goal for her garden.

An costume/outfit from each extended family memebrt etc for a dress up box? I helped organise this for a DNephew who has a Jan Birthday last year slightly older at 5 though. Endless possibilities for people to pick from. He was really into pirates so his 1st present was a pirate outfit from his DM with a 'treasure map' we helped him follow the clues to find the treasure which led to a really nice wooden trunk hidden in the garage with his name on and all the other family members contributed an outfit that was wrapped inside the trunk! He was so excited and it means that things like world book day are sorted for a while too!

A vuvuzela. And a hard stare.

Does he have age-appropriate games, like Pop-up Pirate, skittles, Orchard Toys games (Bus Lotto became a hit this year for us)?

How about his own scooter, or a joint outdoor toy for them both?

Or a voucher to a local zoo/soft play/farm?

We got our son the Duplo Cargo Train for his birthday last year and asked Granny to buy the Bridge Set and the Extra Track set which you can buy from the Lego website to make it bigger. Does he need any clothes, sometimes it's nice to get something new, like a coat than wear the one your brother had. Winter pyjamas, slippers, hat, scarf, gloves......

is there any new character things he's into?

or a new dvd and a busy book/soft toy to go with it? there's Disney ones, secret life of pets, paw patrol loads of different ones and only about £5. they are a book with playmat and 10/12 figures.

a personalised book with his name in. I got the little girl who lost her name ones for my dds they loved them.

a new backpack/lunch bag for nursery?

plate/cup/bowl set?

bedding set in favourite character/animal?

a build a bear? always fun going to stuff one yourself.

Thanks ladies you've given me a couple of ideas. I've already suggested the Duplo bridge to one auntie. He got the steam train last year so I think between the two sets that should be plenty track.

Things I've added are dress up stuff. Buzz is a favourite of his.
And an igloo or tent.

The tent DS1 had got burst. We already have a trampoline. His scooter was new last year. We already have a fish tank that DS1 got when he was about 4.

Baking stuff eg cupcake tray and cases if you don't have them, or fun cookie cutters and an apron?

Zoo membership

Toys have so much packaging, it really annoys me.

Fresh01 · 20/10/2019 19:30

His own swimming bag with towel, new trunks, goggles and a few toys for the pool. We had Zogg sinkers that we popular for many years and easy to take on holidays.

Play-doh or Kinetic sand

Craft stuff? His own coloured pens?

Fresh01 · 20/10/2019 19:31

New bath toys

Blackbear19 · 20/10/2019 19:45

He got new swim shorts for holiday and I really don't think he'd appreciate a new towel. TBH.

New bath toys is probably a good shout though. Thanks for that one.
