Advent calendar for an almost 4 year old

Hi,

I have a son who will be 4 in January. Last year he got a normal chocolate advent calendar, but this year I’m contemplating a toy one. Which ones have you bought or will be buying?

Many thanks in advance for any inspiration

The playmobile calendars are pretty good.

Paw Patrol if he’s into that.
Schleich do lovely calendars. We got the wildlife one from Argos last year. I’ve seen the dinosaur one in Asda this year. direct.asda.com/george/toys-character/action-figures-playsets/schleich-dinosaurs-advent-calendar-2019/050735276,default,pd.html Asda are also selling a Thomas and Friends one.

The Playmobil calendars are great and we’ve also had the Playdoh one which was good too.

The Lego ones are very good

I’ve just ordered this one for my kids - though I’m sure they’ll be asking for a chocolate one too Wink

My son is the same age and I’ve bought him this paw patrol one www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/pre-school-and-electronic-learning/paw-patrol/paw-patrol-2019-advent-calendar-with-24-collectible-pieces/p/175739

Ds loves the playmobil ones. He had one last year (as a 3 year old about to turn 4 in the feb) and it was a great success.

The Lego City one was crap last year. Many of the daily builds were random and my son couldn't be bothered to make them!

This year I'm making a DIY Pokemon one but I'd imagine that may be a bit old for your son?

Summerdays2014 · 05/10/2019 18:11

Thanks! The paw patrol looks good and so does the dinosaur one! I’ll have a look at the play mobile.
His favourite thing at the moment is Spider-Man and superhero, but I haven’t seen any of them.
A homemade one is a great idea, if I get organised.

We got one of the wooden advent calendars from Aldi with the little drawers you fill yourselves and then bought a small Lego set and split it amongst the drawers. He opens the instructions on the first day then gets to build the set through the month and then on Christmas Eve he has a complete toy to play with

Totally coming round to the idea of a homemade calendar now! Could put some little cars in and mini Lego figures along with the odd chocolate!
