Just curious, do you provide them a list of ideas, leave them to their own free will and imaginations, anything else? I know someone who buys their own presents and asks their partner to wrap them.

Normally I send him an Amazon wish list but I thought I'd leave him to it this year... could be interesting lol

DH is really good at buying presents if left to his own devices, but usually asks me to write a big list and then he’ll pick bits off it so it’s still a surprise. He usually tells me if he’s got a main present in mind for himself and then I’ll top that up with other bits he’s mentioned previously.

We don't do presents to each other, we're hard up.

We no longer exchange gifts, don’t want to sound sanctimonious but I have got to the age/stage in life where there is nothing I really want or need (I know I am very lucky), I am not into clothes, jewellery, music, I get books from charity shops or the library, have everything I need for the home - spend so much of my life de-cluttering as it is! We might choose to go to the theatre or a show, which to me is better than a present (if we can agree what to watch!). We do enjoy celebrating Christmas, just no need to buy gifts!
