I posted a thread on here earlier today asking what I could get for my 11yo DS and got lots of really fantastic ideas. So I thought I’d see what suggestions I get for my daughters too!

DD1 is 7. She loves music, singing and gymnastics. She’s very creative and loves drawing, making things and cooking/baking. She adores all animals. She also love plastic tat and has far too many cuddly toys. I’m keen to steer away from that this year. She shares a PlayStation with her brother but increasingly his games are taking over. Would love a suggestion or two of games she might enjoy.

DD2 will be 18months at Christmas and she’s into everything but also nothing in particular. She seems to love music and sensory toys. I was thinking of getting her a Happyland set and maybe some clothes. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance Smile

My dd7 just got into Hama beads. She likes arts and crafts and these beads are good.

Thanks but she has lots of Hama beads. She still loves them!

for dd1- a cd player with some cds (you can borrow some from the library once she has grown sick of the ones she gets for xmas), you could get one with attached microphones if she likes singing. would she like a toy like this? it acts like a 'real' dog, in that it comes to you when you call it, you can walk it on a lead etc. in terms of games, she might like youtubers life.

for your dd2, what about something like this, or this?

Karaoke machine www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/creativity-music-and-partyware/music/karaoke/singing-machine-smk250pp-bluetooth/p/161711
Okido magazine subscription

My 7 year old sounds similar. She's got a great karaoke machine with disco lights that connects to your phone. Got it from amazon and wasn't very expensive comes with a microphone. You could also get her an exercise mat for her gymnastics or a personalised sports bag from eBay which I got for my daughter last Xmas. A nice leotard?

For the toddler I always think toy kitchens go down well. Puzzles, wooden toys,

Xx

DD2 is 7 she is having (from everyone not just us); Gymnastics Lego, Gymnastics barbie, a new bike, her gymnastics club hoody, gymnastics bag, a barbie set from Smyths, boring stuff like pyjamas/pants/socks, books of some description and other little bits.

Dd1 - on the PS4, has she got Lego Worlds? Other games my DD(7) enjoys are Minecraft, Harry Potter Collection, the Incredibles game and Rayman.

Toddler - Scuttlebug or Toddlebike.

The Ikea folding mat is good for gymnasts. A new leotard? Chalk if she uses bars. Scrunchies. A kitchen roll holder to hold scrunchies. If she is keen a floor beam or an air track mat is a good bigger gift.

Non gymnast presents- sprocket camera, or small digital camera, karaoke mike or Alexa Dot if she likes music. A small purse with some store gift cards for a wee shopping trip.

Karaoke machine might be a plan?
My dds like Just Dance and Disneyland Adventures, I think they come on the PlayStation.
We have had a lot of use out of a fold up gym mat and balance beam from Ikea.
There's a gymnast set for Lottie dolls that my dc likes.

I’m getting my one year old step-granddaughter a keyboard, and some kind of cushion with reversible sequins (she bloody loves the one’s at her nan’s house).

I’m getting my 7 year old dd:
A bike (Dutch design, like mine, town bike with a basket)
Diana Wynne Jones books (she loves these)
Some schliech toys (again, loves these)
Either some Playmobil/Barbie/Sylvanians - whatever I can find reasonable second hand. All animal themed - she’s mad about animals.
And a cuddly toy, no doubt....

Am going to suggest DP gets her the Exploding Kittens game - apparently that is good?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 25/09/2019 11:46

Thanks all. Some lovely ideas here. My 7yo has not long ago had her birthday and she got a bike, playmobil stuff, she has the folding gym mat too. I might get her some things for her gymnastics...a new leotard maybe and a bag. She got a karaoke mic last Christmas which is fun but not sure about a karaoke machine.

My 1yo is tricky as I have two older children and we already have a lot of stuff like a trike, ride ons, a keyboard so I’m still struggling for her.

Really appreciate the ideas!
