Hey all, was wondering what’s the best set to start with? My son will be 4 in Dec so have a birthday and Christmas to buy for. I thought playmobil may be fun but there’s so many different sets what’s the best ones to buy?

Thanks all

I’ve gone for the aquarium and large farm for my 4 year old. He had sone dinosaur ones already that he loves.

What he interested in? I've seen Noah's Ark in quite a few places as it comes with animals which are a popular theme.
My sons were very into goodies vs baddies at 4, so the police station would have gone down well. The police car was battery operated iirc

We have a few different sets but my boys like the playground best. They pretend the characters are them and their friends 😂

We started our 3 year old with sets she's familiar with in real life. She's got a playground, campsite and a petting zoo. She can spend ages just pottering round making up stories

I’d go with something he’s already interested in. If he’s been to the zoo a lot or loves animals, then the zoo set would be a good one.
My DN spent a lot of his early childhood in hospital, so he was obsessed by the playmobil hospital. He also had the cruise ship set after his family went on a cruise!
My other DN is very into sci-fi so he preferred the space ship sets.

Asda had the fire truck for £20 the other day.

DD has loads of it and loves it all, her particular favourites are the plane and the caravan.

Absolutely anything that he's in to in real life, it's all fab. You can always hold back some of the teenier bits til he's a bit older, mine were bad for losing them at that age

ipswichwitch · 23/09/2019 19:54

I’d definitely go with whatever his interest is. Maybe show him some stuff in the playmobil website and see what grabs his attention.

We have tons on playmobil - pyramid, Romans’, fire station and truck, construction vehicles, volcano, tree house, pirate island and ship, school bus, hospital, aquarium, football pitch, ice hockey , Santa’s house and goldmine. It’s all awesome!

If you can find Playmobil 123 the farm is great

AlphabetDinosaur · 23/09/2019 19:58

We got the castle first which they loved and doesn't have too many tiny parts. The vehicles have also gone down well (police car, police helicopter, fire engine and ambulance). The children seem to like the police station too but I find that it breaks every time it gets moved around so I prefer the castle!

Whatever he loves in real life. Dd is currently entranced by Spirit, so I’ve got her the stables for Christmas.

Sweetpea84 · 24/09/2019 13:26

Thanks all. I think I’ll start with the fire station and go from there
