Just wondered what you were getting your toddlers this year. I was thinking of a dollhouse but don't know if DD (who'd be 2.5 by Xmas) would be too young? Also thinking of a my generation doll but don't know if it'll get played with?? Got some crayola bits and some Doc Mcstuffins bits but other than that I need inspiration! Also, how many presents are you planning on getting? TIA

We've also got her the Melissa and Doug dough set. The dough isn't meant to be very good but since I make play dough it's just the tools I bought for! Most children around that age love play dough so that could be another idea!

I think the My Generation dolls will be wasted on a 3 year old, they're not cheap!

My daughter will be 2 years 9 months at Christmas. We are getting her a scooter because she is starting preschool so she can scoot to school.
On her Christmas list (written by us) is also playmobil, playdoh, jigsaw puzzles and stuff for her "baby" like a pushchair and a baby bath.

We got her a dolls house last Christmas. Its basic with wooden dolls and simple furniture and she likes it a lot.

My daughter absolutely loves her wooden train track.

DDs main present is going to be a kitchen and some bits to go in it

Then she will also get:
Apron for when we bake (going to sew this)
New pjs (may sew these too)
A book
A couple of small stocking filler toys

We are skint and she will get lots from family too so we decided not to get any more than that . She would be more than happy with just the kitchen tbh

To answer your other question, we will get DD one big present (scooter) and a stocking with around 8-10 small presents.

We have a large family so she will get a lot of presents from relatives, probably about 15 presents from aunts/uncles/grandparents/siblings etc. costing £20-50 each which is A LOT!

We usually ask some of them to put money together to buy a bigger ticket item or membership.

DD will be 2y7m and she's having a dolls house :)

In terms of other presents, I'm trying to be sensible this year, so she's having:

  • panda backpack
  • camera (was £8 from amazon)
  • dinosaur projector torch
  • couple of sticker books

She'll also have a stocking with some felt tips, bobbles and Lanka kade dinosaurs in.

My ds is just turned 3 and he has so far:

Dinosaur projection torch (loves dinosaurs and torches so this fits the bill)
Walking dinosaur
Paw patrol fuzzy felt
Clothes

He is getting his own room soon so maybe some bits for that, new bedding, decorations that sort of thing but otherwise I'm pretty stumped for ideas so will follow this in hope of some inspiration

I LOVE the idea of giving them Sylvanian from when I was little, I've got loads in the loft and mine are about the age to enjoy it. I'm absolutely skint so the cheaper the better. Mine really don't need any more toys so I'll get them things like Play-Doh and sticker books - stuff that will get used up.

baubled · 22/09/2019 20:20

@Somebodystired my DS is 3 just before too and has also just really got in to imaginary play so I will be stealing some of them!

DreamingofSunshine · 22/09/2019 20:23

DS will be 2.5 at Christmas. He's mainly getting bits for the wooden train set, and a scooter.

He loves the wooden dolls house, and the le toy van wooden London bus and Noah's ark are both played with lots.

baubled · 22/09/2019 20:25

Also planning to get my Sylvanians from my mums

totsalot · 22/09/2019 20:35

Mine will have just turned 3 and is having a dolls house and furniture, sylvanian family to go with it, a Disney Princess hair styling head and the hairdressing kit to go with it, a toy till and pop up tent cafe, a toy guitar, the ELC pancake making set for her toy kitchen, that hideous rainglow unicorn vet toy that she’s absolute desperate for, and a bo peep figure.

Little bits like play doh pots, stickers, singing Moana microphone and chocolate coins in her stocking.

GummyGoddess · 22/09/2019 21:00

I was planning on asking relatives to contribute towards a playhouse/climbing frame for Christmas. Other than that, probably more expansions for his orchard car puzzle, more shark clothes, more under sea fact books, a fishing game and a baby shark puzzle.

Fantababy · 22/09/2019 21:15

I've got (and still to get) DD some Happyland stuff as her main gift. I think she'll have 6-8 things to unwrap but that includes pyjamas, books, etc. Shouldn't add up to much money-wise (I hope)!

user1573354 · 23/09/2019 23:40

Mine will be 3 Christmas week. Getting Way to Play rubber road, wooden London bus, Paw Patrol die cast/metal vehicles, wooden marble run, Playmobil plane and maybe Duplo. This is for both birthday and Christmas. Any other presents would be books/pyjamas/umbrella/bedding. Generally I get mine approximately 10 tree presents (not all toys) and a stocking with 10 small presents. But toddler gets less because of being younger and overwhelmed with stuff because of the Christmas week birthday.

2 is far too young for a my Generation doll in my opinion.

tmh88 · 24/09/2019 06:58

DS will be just 2 and he’s obsessed with wooden train tracks so getting him some Thomas wooden trains now as he loves the one Thomas he has but they’re £17.99 each so only getting a couple for both birthday and Christmas as he’s young enough to not be bothered by quantity haha! Also got him a singing baby shark (which I’ll probs end up wanting to throw out the window) and insert puzzles/2 piece orchard puzzles.

Morgan12 · 24/09/2019 07:09

Baby doll and pram.
A ride on battery operated motorbike.
Some character stuff (night garden, twirlywoos)
A wendy house

And I can't think of anything else to get them!
