Hey I was thinking on xmas eve more or less doing a buffet throughout the afternoon and eve, a decent selection of nibbles for me, my son and my boyfriend who is pescatarian. We are definitelty grazers! Any ideas?

I thought maybe:

Cheese pizza
Brie and cranberry on crackers
Prawn kinda things
Pigs in blankets
Cucumber and carrot crudites with dip

We always buy little canapes you can keep in the freezer and whip out throughout the Xmas period. M&S ones are obviously lovely, but Aldi's ones were fab for the price last year.

Cranberry topped pork pies from marks and spencer. They are my favourite thing about Christmas!

Jar of giant pickled onions.
Silver foil hedgehog with cheese and pineapple on a stick.
Jelly/trifle.
Ritz crackers.
Boursin cheese.

Oh, then play: pass the parcel, charades, pictionary; put on a show you've been practising!

Sausage rolls and/or slices of pork pie
Scotch egg bites
Smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/salmon-herb-blinis
Mini quiches or frittata muffins
Mini Yorkshire puddings with beef and horseradish recipes.sainsburys.co.uk/recipes/starters/mini-yorkshire-pudding-canapes You could use Aunt Bessie’s mini frozen puddings if you don’t want to make your own.

M&S do things like nice cooked prawns (some seasoned, some with dips, some just plain) and squid rings in their regular ranges, and usually have lovely seafood bits for Christmas. And little smoked salmon parcels of salmon mousse.

Cured meats (parma ham, salamis, braseola)
Cooked meats (baked ham, proper corned beef)
Olives
Cherry tomatoes
Carrot and pepper sticks and bread sticks (for dipping)
Hummus, salsa, maybe another dip
Salad leaves
Nice bread or crackers or flatbreads

Open the Christmas cheese board - a nice mature cheddar, a nice blue cheese that's ready to eat, a soft cheese perfectly starting to run, and maybe one more hard one.

Got to have smoked salmon at Christmas. And a cheese board!
