Has anyone got any recommendations please? Looking for a reasonably affordable electric guitar for a 6 year old boy, he wants to learn to rock lol. I've seen some on argos and smyths not sure how good they are though. Many thanks x

Do you mean a proper musical instrument or a 'toy' one ?

My DS is nearly 20 and hankering after an electric guitar for his birthday/Christmas They are ££££ then you need the amp too.

DS has been playing guitar for a year and has a classic ( Aldi bargain £30) and an Acoustic (about £100)

We're waiting till Black Friday but I've told my DS he needs to play one first so we'll head to a music shop first.

Now , you'll need a good deal on ear-plugs and some for your NDNs Xmas Grin

Heya looking for a proper instrument rather than a toy one. I have an amp from back in the day when I had a bass :) my lil man is adamant he wants an electric guitar not a acoustic one which is a pain cos there's a lot more of those available haha. Good idea to look out for stuff on black Friday. Especially ear plugs haha! :)

DS is 7 and has guitar lessons at school. His teacher recommended this one. He got it for Christmas last year and it’s been great.

Oh , I was going to say about the size - that one Anna linked is a 3/4 so more suitable for a 6yo. .

You'd definately need to get him to try a few out .

My DS has had some recommendations from his guitar teacher , my head is buzzing with Fender , Stratocaster , Squires aaaaaattgh (I know from searching they are £500+ on the website .

Annamariadreams, thanks that is definitely a price range I prefer! My son's about 120-odd cm tall so I think it would be a good size x

It's not just the size, it's the weight. They can be pretty heavy. The long in that link says its lightweight so could be good. I work for a music service and I'll never forget a parent picking up an electric guitar he was hiring from us for his son who was 5 and tiny. Dad had not thought it through at all!
