Is anyone stocking up on xmas food early due to brexit?

I'm thinking that some of the usual christmas goodies may not be available after October 31st. Anyone stocking up on treats?

I am. But I'm also putting trust in Booths to have stock of the food they'll be advertising in their Christmas book (and will be ordering on the first day!).

I will be but not much in the shops yet.

Yes, I've done a couple of storage boxes of chocolate, sweets, biscuits and crackers BBE Jan-April next year. I don't like crowds so I got them (all on special offers) when the shops were quiet.

I've also got tins and packets, wine concentrate and sugar.

What in particular are you thinking of?

I got all the ingredients for the Christmas cake. Nothing will come between me and my Christmas cake.

And other bits like florentines/amaretti.

Not because of brexit but I’m thinking of buying a few extra bits a week to put in the cupboard to lessen the spend at Xmas time. Any ideas of what would be appreciated..

I was thinking of things like cranberry sauce, chocolates etc all of which may increase in price due to Brexit and some which are made in the EU may not be available or hard to find etc.

I'm stocking up bit by bit each week but I normally do this anyway. I've already got a fair bit.

Hmmm I think we are on course to leave the EU but if there's one thing that might halt it it would be the fear of no mini stollen bites in Aldi.

Don't joke about Stollen! It's my staple Christmas food along with Baileys and pigs in blankets.

My Christmas stash so far

I have 3 bottles of Shloer, cranberry sauce, and Christmas baking supplies too. But I usually start the Christmas stocking up now. I'm just making sure it's done by the end of this month instead of by the end of November. I bought that tin of quality street in the January sale as the date is the end of December

This is my baking chocolate stash. I've since added 4 more bars to it though! 😂
