Budapest at Christmas

I'm on my own over Christmas and thinking of going to Budapest for Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. I could go on a River Cruise, see the Nutcracker on Christmas Day and go to the Christmas Markets which will still be on.
Has anyone been over the Christmas period?

No but I envy you. Most beautiful city in the world. I'd also go to Szechenyi baths as they have gorgeous outdoor hot pools. Or Gellert, but Szechenyi looks best in winter.

If you are religious, you could go to a candlelit service in the cave church inside Buda hill on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
