We went a couple of years ago to Luosto with Canterbury Travel. I would really recommend them. The staff were great with the kids.

Yes! We decided to give the Lapland trip as their big Christmas present and went for a week in February half term. It was brilliant, and I'm so glad we did it that way. It's still very magical, but you don't have to contend with the worst of the crowds so I think that makes it more enjoyable. You also have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights then (although it's better still in spring/autumn). Oh and probably a better chance of snow. Remember last year lots of people were disappointed in their pre-Christmas trips because the snow arrived later than usual!

We DIY'd it booking our flights, accommodation and activities. It's expensive but we have no regrets.

Highlights worth splashing out on were getting to drive on a husky sled ride, and getting a personal visit from Santa to our cottage in Santa Claus Holiday Village.

If I was going for a week again I'd probably split it as a 2-centre holiday between Santa Claus Holiday Village (near Rovaniemi) and somewhere else for skiing as we only did 1 day of skiing at Ounasvaara.

Mallow we went to Lapland for a few days a few yrs ago with the kids and they absolutely loved it! We went sledding which was so much fun, and on many trips for example, Huskies ride, visiting Father Christmas, early morning ride through the forest on reindeers, and a great visit to an ice bar. I'm sure you will have a fantastic time, just a little tip, bring plenty of money as the trips are expensive Wink

Also we went near the beginning of December and everywhere was covered in snow!
