The Elfie Christmas letters - do they ever come down in price?

We've bought these the last few years and the dc have liked them. I can't remember spending £38 on them last year though, that seems a lot!

Do they ever do codes or similar?

Whoah they are nice but yes , very spendy .

Do you buy them one each? (You could put that £38 towards a Lapland UK trip and get a letter sent to them as part of it ? )

Years ago we got NSPCC letters , nowhere near as elaborate as these ones , I think it was a £5+ donation ( my DC1 is nearly 20yo so it was a while ago)

I think for £38 I'd print some festive pictures and learn calligraphy but I'm a tightarse Xmas Blush !

I'm wondering if they've gone up in price, I've got them for the past couple of years and I don't think I would have paid so much!

I can get one set between them, at least.

Think I'll have to look at some other options.

We get these - our kids love them! They're really beautiful. They do do codes - I got ours for this year at 20% off a few months ago but I think I got another code through on email a week or so ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Stompythedinosaur · 26/08/2019 12:29

Telephone if you find it I would be very grateful!

I’ve got the latest email code but not sure if it’s still valid. Deffo worth a try though! It’s gingerbread15

TelephoneTree · 26/08/2019 19:24

Stompy Found it! The code is gingerbread15
I can't wait for December the 1st!

Stompythedinosaur · 26/08/2019 22:13

Thank you both so much, I will give it a try!

It worked! Knocked the price down to just over £30 which felt a bit more reasonable. Thanks for your help!

These letters are really special. We've got ours already as I needed an early delivery for some for my sister to take back with her to the Middle East.

They came last week and they look amazing.

MadameMinette - can't wait to see ours! My kids re-read them through the year too. They love them.

Chickenish · 29/08/2019 01:52

If your child writes early enough they may get a letter back from Santa. His address is :The North Pole.

My dd sent a letter once really early (summer/autumn) and got a card from Santa.

AnnieSaxophone · 31/08/2019 22:00

I’ve heard of these. I think I’m going to give them a go this year.

AnnieSaxophone · 01/09/2019 19:57

@Stompythedinosaur or MadameMinette I’m looking at the big bundle and wondered if it would be good for my 5 and 4 year old or would they be too young? I also have a non believing 10 year old . Do you think it would be a good bundle for mine or should I go for the younger activity one?

Charliemustard · 03/09/2019 20:27

@AnnieSaxophone My DS was 5.5 yrs last Christmas and we had the big Elfie bundle last year - he loved it! Smile

Stompythedinosaur · 03/09/2019 20:53

Annie I started getting them at that age and the sc liked getting the letters, but they weren't able to read them independently then and the novelty of the letters wore off during the month. With hindsight I would have gone for the ones aimed at younger kids, or one of the smaller sets.

Last year my dd1 was 7 and could read the letters confidently to dd2 which worked much better and I felt they were more appreciated.

This looks fab! Never seen it before. Thanks Stompy! Just ordered mine.

AnnieSaxophone · 04/09/2019 22:12

Thank you Stompy and Charliemustard - I couldn’t resist and went for the big Elfie bundle in the end. I want to surprise my 10 year old with them too - she’ll totally know, but I’ll still deny everything Grin. This is going to be fun!
