Just a titchy one - an insert for this Advent Calendar - 24 decorations to hang on the tree.

It's going to be an awful lot of knitting, hence cracking on early.

Ooh picture of yours, in focus if possible?

Gwan, lets have a look Grin.

DD nearly 10 has been teaching herself to knit, might these be the sort of thing she could do?

Good organisation! Looks fun

Lovely @GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER

I'm working on Christmas stuff too (in between cardigans for the three babies born in the family since Easter). I've made 2 nativities and a tea cosy and have the yarn to make another 2 cosies and another nativity.

@ImNotHappyaboutitPauline could your daughter make something like these?

I've only knitted it - haven't sewn up and stuffed yet. That and one of the 'pockets' is all I've done so far. And now going on hols so it'll be a while.

The Advent Calender 'bits' are not difficult but def. on the fiddly side.

For a 10 year old new knitter - if she'd like to make something Christmassy - I'd suggest the little elves and snowmen etc. in Jean Greenhowe's Christmas Special book. (Also has pattern for the lovely Nativity Set which I made last year). They are very easy and quite quick to make, small enough to hang on the tree. I made a lot last year for Gdd's school fair.

All the JG patterns are doable for anyone who can cast on and off, k, p, and do simple inc. and dec., and her instructions are crystal clear.

Meant to add, the JG Christmas Special book is easy to find online. Not to be confused with her Chr. Treasures, which also has the donkey to add to the Nativity Set..

Thanks Getting and TheWooly* I'll show those to her, they're very cute.

I've no idea what she'd be able for as I'm not a knitter, I don't have a clue what the instructions even mean. I'm not sure how I ended up with such a crafty child Smile!
