Bedroom Christmas Tree?

As the Balsam Hill sale is on I am lusting after a complete extravagance of a bedroom tree.... I was looking at getting a prelit frosted one so no decorations required but a bit of xma in my master bed! I think it is because the inlaws are coming for the first time ever and I am looking create a festive escape if I need it / slash a festive place where the kids can quietly open stockings at an ungodly hour that wont disturb them.... I am lucky enough to have a big enough room with a fireplace that I think a tree would look really nice next to. Am I mad?!?!

Sounds absolutely fabulous! If my bedroom was big enough, I’d do the same!

You need some twinkly lights on the fireplace too, like those teeny battery op ones one thin wire (hide the battery pack in ribbon bows or something)
Maybe a couple of the LED flame candles? Splash out on the flickering flame ones .

A lit tree in the bedroom sounds lovely , could start a new Tradition Xmas Grin

And no such thing as Am I mad ? on the Christmas Threads (as long as its Christmas being discussed )

I could not be more jealous. Sounds amazing, do it immediately!

TailEndCharlie · 18/07/2019 11:16

Do it! If my bedroom was big enough I would have one in there as well. Sounds gorgeous.

Crazydaysforme · 18/07/2019 15:43

Yes! Do it. I would if my room was suitable!

autumnboys · 18/07/2019 15:46

Do it! It sounds fabulous.

HeadintheiClouds · 18/07/2019 15:47

Go for it. Might start rearranging mine to see if I can free up an alcove...

BarryMcguigan · 18/07/2019 15:50

Only do it if you promise to post pics and make me jealous / inspire me to do the same

Toughmonkeys · 18/07/2019 15:52

I would if I had space. Sounds lovely

Gustavo1 · 18/07/2019 15:53

I would love to do this!
Will you post a picture come Christmas time? 🎄

TailEndCharlie · 18/07/2019 19:49

OK I will. Am going to sneakily buy it before the sale ends and have it delivered while DH is abroad so I can sneak it to the loft and he will never know until Xmas....

Also looking forward to a cheeky pic! I would love to have a room big enough to do this... One day!

KatieKirk · 18/07/2019 22:33

It sounds gorgeous, I’d do it if I had the room!!

IamChipmunk · 19/07/2019 06:21

Agree, sounds fab!
We hav a little tree in our upstairs hall, just because there is space!

'Oh, that old thing?' Grin Say you got it in the January sale last year's for a tenner. Wink My kids have small fake trees in their rooms. I like the idea of a master bedroom tree.

quirkycutekitch · 03/08/2019 00:48

I haven’t got a massive bedroom but just had a brainwave - a tree instead of my lamp! That would look so cute for the opening stocking photos! Smile

Raspberrytruffle · 03/08/2019 16:36

If my bedroom was big enough I'd definitely have a tree in it! However I've just replaced our old Christmas tree and got a 6.5ft bh Fraser fir prelit. I was so annoyed though I missed the sale by one day so I had to pay full wack of £519 😖

MrsElf · 07/08/2019 01:13

Not mad at all. I love my bedroom tree - lie in bed at night reading with tree twinkling in the corner, set a timer and wake up to tree lights, take 1st cup of tea back into bed, to make festive 'to do today' lists, warm and cosy and sparkly tree to look at...
My DH was so very pleased with his Asda plastic abomination, bought well after he should have known I wouldn't stand for it ever be seen in public, but actually I find with only the tree lights and a bedside lamp on it is really quite acceptable. And no pine needles to assault your bare feet when DDog has wandered off with your slippers, so you obviously NEED a faux tree for the bedroom. The Balsam Hill trees are gorgeous, but a bit extravagant for our budget, and the thought of getting needles out of the stair carpet in January February, March, April, May, June and July had put me off an upstairs tree until then. So now we have 3 trees every year, which wasn't at all what he intended Grin

70sWitch · 09/08/2019 21:49

In a larger house, I did this and loved it because I'm totally Christmas crazy

I'd love to do it again but my bedroom is way too small now. Sad

Hope you went for it. Xmas Smile. Merry Christmas

Boholady · 09/08/2019 21:57

We've just downsized and for the first time ever, have a spare room. I've got a Hobbycraft twiggy tree that I'm planning on putting in there with Shaker stylee decorations for adult children guests over the festive season! 😍😍😍

Fragalino · 09/08/2019 22:12

Op, coming on to enable you as well.
If I had space and fireplace I would too. Sounds glorious.

Candlesonthetable · 11/08/2019 19:43

I have been inspired by this thread, but we don't have a fireplace in the bedroom. How else could I decorate our bedroom with nowhere else obvious to hang deccies? A tree on it's own seems a little lonely.

RuffleCrow · 11/08/2019 19:57

My room isn't huge but there is a fireplace. If i Marie Kondo enough before Xmas i reckon i'd have both the space and some contrasting minimalism. Win-win.
