Find any good ones? I bought B&Ms this ye for £4.99... then remembered too late that it was rubbish the year before. A few years ago I bought from ikea and also from Aldi... remember them being better. So while it's fresh in everyone's head thought I'd ask so can make a note for next year.

I want it to be less than a tenner and able to be assembled by a 12 yo independently... prefer it if they come with sweets / embellishments already provided but could be swayed...

the best 1 I’ve ever got was from Costco, was def less than a 10er. Didn’t manage to get to buy 1 this year tho :(

I had the Morrisons mini village one. The pie slices didn't snap off properly and I couldn't get the fiddly little bits to glue together properly. It went in the bin in a fit of rage! I bought premade gingerbread men and used the decoration sweets to decorate them.

Tiger £1 each, a few breaks, but fixed with royal icing. No icing or sweets included. Haven't eaten any but dc haven't complained. We go cheap and cheerful as have best decorated gingerbread house competition so need a few!

Waitrose kit was an utter disaster. AWFUL. Never again

The Costco house and train one was fab - it smelt and tasted gorgeous. £6

MeetOnTheSIedge · 29/12/2018 18:48

Zevitevitchofcwsmas what was wrong with it? Apart from the icing needing a lot of beating we thought it was really good.

Tesco, got it on Christmas Eve reduced from £4.99 to £2.49
Came with everything, was easy to build thanks to the plastic base
Haven’t tried eating it tho so can’t comment on the taste

Starwednesday yours looks so much nicer than mine! I would blame 3 year old dd but all she did was stick the sweets around the window Grin

Costco was good. Comes with everything needed and instructions (but who follows those?) Plenty of ready made icing.

Last year was a house, this year a train station. Curious about next year!

Thanks all- lots of great reviews. Sounds like IKEA and Costco are both good bets if happen to be there in Christmas run up...
