Agh! How long to cook this turkey crown?

M&S turkey crown ( not my choice but there we have it) says to cook 2h19 mins but that seems long to me. Turkey calculator says 1h59 which is more like it. Only 20 mins in it but don’t want a dry bird... what say you hive mind?

Are the 2 times calculated at the same temp?

Cook for 1.45, start basting and take out when the juices run clear. Aim for somewhere between the two tones.

BBC Good Food (which I always use) says 70 mins + 20 mins per kilo which = 114 minutes.

Matches your turkey calculator so I would go with that.

Yes to same temp. I’ll go with good food I trust it. Have a thermometer so I’ll be fine to check if it’s done and if we eat a tiny bit later that’s fine.

Mine’s 2.3kg so am doing 2 hours (also as per bbc good food). Resting fir 40 minutes while the roasters go in

I never go off supermarket times, I think they often tell you to overdo them so their cover their backsides!

I agree with others to do 2 hours.

I did a crown two days ago from Sainsbury’s. It was a medium crown which I cooked for just over 2 hours. Garlic and herb butter under the skin, then over the skin with a streaky bacon lattice on top. Onion shoved in, and was sat on top of carrots, onions and parsnips. Was delicious and succulent which I found hard to believe being turkey.
