So we were meant to be with DPs family on Christmas... now me, DP and DS (18 Months) are all ill it looks like we might end up having a very small Christmas at ours just the 3 of us. What are your ideas for a minimal effort but yummy Christmas Dinner. Pie maybe? I'm wondering if any restaurants are open!

There’s only 3 of us having Christmas dinner (there’s also ds with autism but he hates roast dinner so he wants a tuna sandwich!) but we still do the whole turkey thing. We use the left overs for sandwiches etc the next day. I actually buy a bigger turkey for that reason. Grin

There's three of us, we just do a roast chicken dinner with the addition of pigs in blankets

There is only ever two of us.

I just do a normal sunday veggie roast, with added stuffing balls and a Yorkie. He gets a christmas pudding, just for one with some custard. I hate it so will have something else - not decided yet.

Turkey breasts stuffed with sage and onion stuffing then wrapped in streaky bacon roasted with pigs in blankets, potatoes, carrots and parsnips. All in one tray then gravy on the side.

Minimal effort but still delicious, something like fillet steak and new potatoes or salmon fillets baked in a foil parcel served with a couple of green vegetables (hardly any washing up with the salmon).

Last year because on 3 of us like turkey I got a frozen turkey breast joint out of Aldi. I think it was £4.99, you can get them basted or stuffed. It was actually really nice... plus we weren't stuck eating turkey sandwiches for days on end 😂

Only two of us. I get a turkey joint thing from tesco, it's stuffed and covered in bacon. Does us two days. We wanted a proper piece of Turkey rather than just two breasts.
Do all the usual Christmas trimmings. It's fine. Christmas is what you make it

There's only ever 2 of us. 3 this year with my DM. We do the whole thing but have a duck as it's smaller and we don't like turkey.

Leftovers are nicer too.

There's only 3 of us, I cook loads and then we live off roast potatoes and stuffing for the rest of the week.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'll get some kind of easy bing it in the oven roast and serve with carrots and potatoes and maybe some peas.
