Greetings lovely mumsneters!
Have two kids aged 11 and girl aged 5
Been trying to think more creatively this year re gifts
Has anyone tried this and got any tips ?
So I’m thinking either some kind of promise vouchers eg : a trip to the movies / a homework pass / a day in a city / a sleep in a tent
The five year old will love this

But there will be raised eyebrows from my 11 year old

Another idea 💡 I really loved was from a gran on Facebook
She gave 12 decorated envelopes to be opened at the beginning of each month with a plan inside such as tickets to the zoo

My plan is to keep is relatively low cost

Just looking for ideas for what worked well for you

They are getting presents btw as per usual

My son (6) put 'family time' on his Christmas list - he means days out! So we've bought him a calendar for his bedroom and marked on days out throughout the year. Mainly national trust ones as we are members!

If you have big local attractions near you it might be worth looking on their website to see when they do 'free postcode' days for locals?

And we've marked some days in the summer as the beach...just hope it doesn't rain those days!
