Weve done a practice run of our mince pie tart with DS3 😆

I have to say am pretty impressed with it and his efforts were great he chose were alot of shapes went and egg washed it here is the uncooked tart will post another pic when its cooked.

We are making one of these for Christmas day as a dessert option no one ever picks mince pies so really its all for us to pig out with a cuppa We are also going to make one for a friend Christmas eve I think.

yes its no pintrest spectacular but it looks ok and cant wait to taste......we completely cheated and got ready made roll out pastry and mincemeat but still weve had fun with it and not that messy either!

KittyClaus its shortcrust pastry was quite cheap to do really aswell.
2 x readymade rollout pastry
1 big tub of mincemeat but could easily use jam or lemon curd we made a small cherry jam pie with the left overs.

finshed result just need to dust with icing sugar its not perfect at all but we like it

Christmas day one will not be like this one i think just going to do a big mince slice instead so again 2x readymade pastry roll out stuff. Unroll out and spread mincemeat on and put the other pastry ontop rolled out so will be a bit like a regtangle slice pie thingy.....

That looks delicious! I prefer the filling to the pastry so this would be perfect for me!

It is truly magnificent and very festive. Perfect pastry to filling ratio for me.

Only just had a slice had a lovely afternoon sleep when DH got home early ooooo it was delish!!!
