My DD20 has a budget of £50 to spend on me and is asking what I'd like. I'm constantly seeing stuff I want but my mind has gone blank!

So what would you like for around £50?

If there's no actual 'stuff' you need, could you not say you'd prefer something like lunch and a manicure together, or cocktails out one night?
Other than that, new bag, skin stuff, pjs, books?

Littlelambpeep · 19/12/2018 22:44

I'm getting a watch from Joules (voucher code brings it down to near your budget)

Titsywoo · 19/12/2018 22:46

Nothing - I buy stuff when I need it so there is never anything I want. L always like a gift that involves doing something with the person buying it - nice dinner, afternoon tea or some other experience. Much nicer and not a waste of money like so many gifts tend to be.

Right now I want someone to invent embarrassaway spray - after doing something humiliating you spray it in your nose, it completely prevents you laying down long term memory for precisely the length of time it takes your short term memory to fade. You never remember the embarrassing thing again.

Any arty crafty places that do workshops you might be interested in? A massage?

One of my presents is a half day yoga mini retreat for around £50.

cocoallure · 19/12/2018 23:05

A daisy chakra necklace

ChipsAreLife · 19/12/2018 23:09

A nice hush jumper!

SerialChangerOfName · 20/12/2018 08:19

Thank you for suggestions! Going out together would be lovely but I'm pretty much tied to the house at the moment as I care for my elderly father. Plus I really want something to unwrap along with everyone else on the day!

That a ridiculous amount. How much does she earn? Does she own a home? Set the limit at £10

Olivecake · 20/12/2018 18:32

I would choose a perfume or some luxury Makeup, the kind of thing you wouldn’t necessarily treat yourself to but would enjoy having.

Her dad gave it to her to buy my present.

Perfume is a good idea! I never buy myself perfume!

Very rude to tell a total stranger what constitutes too much money.

Tentomidnight · 20/12/2018 20:04

A Jo Malone 30ml perfume or JM candle, or a lovely jumper, top or winter scarf.

Toomanybaubles · 20/12/2018 20:07

I would choose the Michelle Obama book and a small Diptyque candle.

God Glass, you'd have a field day at me spending £100 on each of my parents AND I don't even own a home Grin

Nice skincare set? Make up lesson with products? Wool jacket/cardigan/jumper? Cashmere scarf/blanket - I bought my mum a gorgeous personalised blanket scarf from notonthehighstreet a few years ago.

mirren3 · 20/12/2018 20:45

Oh @TimeWoundsAllHeals would it help to share what you have done? Not that we're nosy or anything.

I know! It seems some people forget their manners when they get behind a keyboard!

I'd quite like a chilly's bottle this year. After giving my car it's end of term clear out I've realised I spend far too much money on bottled drinks so would like a nice chilly in a matching colour to my car 😊

SerialChangerOfName · 22/12/2018 01:04

Chilly bottle! Excellent!

SerialChangerOfName I've resorted to ordering myself one as sadly Santa didn't deliver 😂

Bertiebitch32 · 29/12/2018 11:36

Next Christmas all I really want off santa is ... .... For some other mug to take care of ensuring Christmas is perfect for my little darlings, that would be a great gift maybes I can sit and relax whilst DH runs himself ragged and I can sit and watch films with a glass of wine Grin
