Fresh birds from Aldi - will they last?

I am planning to buy a goose from aldi tomorrow. I will be keeping it in the fridge which is at 1degC. Will it be ok until the 25th?

Or is there likely to be a stock replenishment so I can buy it later in the week?

I realise this is not a very scintillating thread!

Personally I think that's a bit early, but have a look at the date stamp. If I was buying this early I think I would freeze it for a few days just to be on the safe side.

Birds for Christmas will be dead by now so they’re either in your fridge or the producers.

Bearbehind - that's a very good way of looking at it!! I hadn't thought about it like that!

Thanks!

The sell by dates on most fresh things get mysteriously longer at this time of year.

I was in the supermarket yesterday and carrots, broccoli, cauliflowers, potatoes and sprouts all had dates of 25th or 26th yet normally if I go on a Thursday I can struggle to find anything that says it will keep until the Sunday.

It’s a conspiracy! 😂
