She keeps getting upset and saying she has been wishing for them for'ever' and doesn't get them. She has told everyone that she is getting them Hmm. And when asked which ones, she says 'all of them. I want to make it snow and fly'.

Argh! Tired saying Santa can't do it...she gets v upset. She's a very good, sweet little thing. Any ideas? Not sure a wand (she has lots) or magic set will cut it!

last year mine was convinced he’d get a levitating hoverboard like green goblins, he coped well with the disappointment Grin

Grin poor kids.
She asked for a real life unicorn last year. Apparently the massive teddy I got wasn't quite right....

Yeah, mine wants "ice powers". Like Elsa, donchaknow. I've already told her it's not possible, but she insists that because she's written to Santa about it, it could happen...

MedicinalGin · 15/12/2018 13:05

My friends daughter thinks she has magical powers to lock and unlock cars- she does a little dance and the lights flash (mum is actually pressing the button on the key behind her). You could give her that for Christmas? It also apparently works for TVs and fairy lights. It’s actually pretty sweet but I worry it will end in tears one day Grin

MotherOfDragonite · 15/12/2018 13:06

You could try making her a cape, so she can race around with it flowing behind her? We also got an awesome wooden wand.

bobstersmum · 15/12/2018 13:07

Get her a kids magic set, then she can practice real magic.

user1471530109 · 15/12/2018 13:08

Im even considering a snow machine....

There is a brilliant magic/Harry potter shop in town I'm going to have a look around later.

I like the idea of the remote! She'd twiggy that though Grin

How sweet. Only thing I can think of is giving her the magic power to make others smile through random acts of kindness or similar. Not sure how you would package it though.

superram · 15/12/2018 13:12

I was thinking the same as snuggly.

rhubarbfool · 15/12/2018 13:14

Why don't you explain that witches and wizards have to go to a special wizarding school when they're about 11 and train for years to be able to do magic, there's no shortcut.
And maybe buy some stories to read her, like the worst witch?!

slappinthebass · 15/12/2018 13:26

That's funny Grin. What about an Amazon Echo Plus and some compatible decides like light bulbs or smart plugs, and change the activation word from Alexa to Magic Powers. Then she can say 'Magic Powers turn off the light/play music/tell me a story' etc Or just tell her Father Christmas can't grant magic powers to humans. Maybe visit a grotto and take a note to pass on as you go in.

Alanamackree · 15/12/2018 14:54

Would it help if Santa told her himself? Either by letter or at a grotto if you know of a good one.

user1471530109 · 15/12/2018 17:30

Thank you all so much!
I have an echo dot? Would that be compatible with the bulbs?

I went to Magic shop and got her lots of stocking fillers. A few easy tricks. We have the worst witch series in a bid to get her sister to read so I may start reading them to both of them again. Also the Harry potter audio books on Amazon audio for a free trial...
We haven't been to see Santa this year, so that's also a v good plan! There is one in the magic shop today....that would work!

Tube of magic snow?

Snowwontbelong · 15/12/2018 19:54

Maybe tell her Santa has run out?
An influx of fairy babies this year!!

user1471530109 · 15/12/2018 20:22

Off to Google magic snow....

Thank you for all your suggestions. The bulbs sound a fab idea. It looks like I can 'do it' but how easy it is techno phobe is another story

She really is my little miracle. She's a 29 weeker, tiny with a humongous personality. I've never known her ask for toys. Always the impossible!

Anyone used these 'alexa' bulbs? Are they easy to use? Just stick them in and ask Alexa to turn on? Or is that wishful thinking....

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like snow and flying for your 5 year old daughter in the far distant future when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 25/12/2023 23:21

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like having a levitation spell and a hover spell to make a levitating hoverboard like green goblins for your kid in the far distant future when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 25/12/2023 23:26

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like having a wishing spell for your daughter to have her very own real life unicorn in the far distant future when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 25/12/2023 23:29

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like "ice powers". Like Elsa" for your kid in the far distant future when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 25/12/2023 23:57

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like telekinesis for your friend's daughter in the far distant future so that she can lock and unlock cars and she can have some dance magic that she sprinkle over her feet then once she starts a little dance and the lights flash. It also apparently works for TVs and fairy lights aka Christmas lights when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 26/12/2023 00:03

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like having a speed spell for your daughter in the far distant future to have so she can race around with her cape, when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.

NikotheSpellcaster1 · 26/12/2023 01:29

I might be able to help you out with getting magic powers like magic sharing spell in the far distant future so that she can share her magic to her awesome wooden wand, when I figure out how to get magical powers for everyone except for criminals, bank robbers, and prisoners.
