We have battened down the hatches today and are spending the weekend watching films (preferably Christmas ones if I get my way), making soup, making Christmas cards for family, and making Christmas decorations with lots of glitter Xmas Grin

What are you up to today if you are stuck at home because of the weather (or just because you can be)?

Going to wrap the rest of the presents I've bought so far and write my Christmas cards.

Also loads of housework needed but hopefully will make time to watch a Christmas film with DD later.

Need to brave the shops again tomorrow but it's been a busy week and just couldn't face it today.

Love Christmas but the preparations really stress me out. Every year on Xmas evening I tell myself I really will not stress next year but I always do!

DonaldDucksTowel · 15/12/2018 12:11

Watching Xmas films, eating quality street and writing our letters to Santa today
Bloody awful out there!

stegosauruslady · 15/12/2018 12:17

Last bits of Christmas shopping (no idea what to buy for my step-Dad!), midwife appointment, playing Zelda on my Switch, having random contractions (not in labour yet, just niggly little ones...he needs to stay put for at least another week!)

I should also attatch the Snuzpod to the bed and put some baby's first Christmas tat in my amazon basket in case he does arrive sooner than expected!

Lovemusic33 · 15/12/2018 12:21

So far we have made mince pies, jam tarts and Christmas cupcakes. I need to write Christmas cards and probably watch some cheesy Christmas film. I have a party to go too tonight, I’m secretly hoping I can’t get here due to the weather, we just have heavy rain, no snow and we are not in the area that’s expecting frozen rain tonight (be careful if you are).

SilkenTofu · 15/12/2018 12:22

I love days like this. I spent last night in front of a roaring fire with my family, watching TV, dog asleep by fire, with a large glass of red.

I love winter.

Figgygal · 15/12/2018 12:24

We have the village Christmas party at 2 luckily the village hall is literally across the road

Until then it's been muppets Christmas carol and snowman and the snowdog. Dh did his Christmas cards too

MrsCrapBag · 15/12/2018 12:38

This norning we ran errands & DH gotvhis haircut. He's currently at his DMs as she's going away next week so I've chsnged into my comfy clothes, prepped tea & currently sat with my feet up, tree & candles on nosing around MN ☺ ... can't wait for DH to get home so we can snuggle up. Looking forward to watching the Strictly final tonight with wine & cake 🍷🍰

Christmas market is on in our town centre so may venture put tomorrow depending on a) if we can be bothered or b) how cold it is 😨

Lovemusic33 · 15/12/2018 12:47

Well I was going to watch Christmas movies on 5 but the weather has interfered with my tv/sky signal and I now have no tv 😢

TwistedChristmas · 15/12/2018 15:18

@SilkenTofu I do too on days like this. (It makes me very grateful for having a home to keep us warm and dry and safe. I'm very conscious that others are out there battling the elements today and every day. )
I love pj days with my children but Christmas pj days are the best. My youngest is 3 and soooo excited impossible this year. We've made a big effort to make things rather than buy this year and I now have a decent amount of craft materials. Yet to get the glitter out for the snowflakes but the days not over yet.

We've had a lovely day.
DH took the kids swimming this morning while the baby napped and I caught up on housework

Rest of the day we have watched Christmas films, made some Christmas cookies and the children have made Christmas cards. It's been a lovely quiet day.

My parents are coming over for a casual dinner and wine and the strictly final.

I would have liked to wrap some presents and sort out their stockings but haven't got round to it - I've been too relaxed :)

Insomnibrat · 15/12/2018 15:26

Trying to complete this acrylic on canvas painting to hang above my bed. Smile

Oblomov18 · 15/12/2018 15:53

At home. Watching sport. Don't feel Christmassy as such. Done ironing. Haven't done anything Christmassy.

Kbear · 15/12/2018 16:03

Supported DD as she threw up 8 times, cleaned the bathroom (many times), housework, going to sing with my choir tonight at a Christmas tree festival !

AllYeFaithful · 15/12/2018 16:07

It was bright here this morning so I did some Christmas shopping and had a coffee in a cafe (bliss to be alone for a couple of hours).

Torrential rain this afternoon, though, so I’m watching the Christmas channel on tv with a glass of port and a cheese toastie Grin. DD is making Christmas cards. Silly DH has braved a football match.

I’m off out tonight, though. Just the cinema and possibly a quick drink in the pub with my mum. Umbrella at the ready!

Ollivander84 · 15/12/2018 16:17

I'm going out out. And looking dubiously at the weather

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/12/2018 16:20

A movie (pop corn & Celebrations), some crochet, decorated the tree too.

We were out this morning first though - can't stay in all day.

Girlicorne · 15/12/2018 16:40

Torrential rain and 1°C here today!!! DS football match was cancelled this morning but this afternoon we ve been to see Santa Paws at a country park near us with my friend and her dog and baby, hot chocolate and a soggy walk around the lake. It was lovely despite the weather. Home in front of the fire now drying my socks :-)

whenwillthetwitchstrike · 15/12/2018 16:54

Miserable weather here, although just rain rather than snow. We've all had a great day. DH has recovered from having had Christmas parties for the past three nights & drinking a bit too much and not getting enough sleep; the children have played well together all day and done some Christmas prep; I've got a load of stuff sorted around the house so feel a lot more ready for 8 other family members spending four nights with us over Christmas.

Blacktoffeecat · 15/12/2018 16:57

DS is watching the Polar Express. He got holiday homework including watch a film, make a pillow fort, make snowflakes and paper chains etc (think it’s from Twinkl). So he’s ticked a few off.
DH has done the ironing and I have had a nap and now in the bath watching Gilmore girls. (I have laryngitis).

CheshireChat · 15/12/2018 18:54

Blacktoffeecat that's my idea of homework Wink.

We were supposed to go to a gymnastics class, but DS is too wiped out so stayed at home and bloody glad we did!

We've watched Christmas movies (including the Snowman) and we'll finish the cards, we should've painted some clay decorations, but we don't have any acrylic paints other than bright orange.

I'm just thrilled my scented oils have arrived- my artificial tree finally smells of tree as I've splashed pine oil on it Grin and we have a Christmas spice one which is deliciously plum-y.
