Best way to stick up a net of lights over a window?

I have bought a set of Christmas lights that was described on the box as a 'net' - however it is more like a 8 individual strings of lights trailing down from a main cord - each string of lights is evenly spaced along the cord. It is to go on a window.

I cannot get the main cord to to stay stuck up at the top pf the window. I have tried sellotape and masking tape. I have tried sticking it to the plastic window edges and the plaster above the window. Even though is not very heavy, it keeps falling down.

What is the best way to stick this up, without taking the paint off the wall above?

Thanks.

You need suction cup hooks to stick along the top of the window glass

Or if you want to stick to the window frame use the wee tiny command hooks as they can be removed easily

I've not used Command hooks but hear they are good

I have used a tension rod before for decs in the window, though these can only really be used in the recess

B and M have the suction cups for £1.49!

Command Hooks! I have even used them outside my house and they work well and very easy to take down afterwards.

If there is something to attach them too with the lights then, small cable ties. When you're done, simply cut them and release.

Small command hooks did the trick perfectly - thank you all.

Great! Now that you’ve done yours, can you nip over to mine to clean, START the xma shopping and put up the decorations? I’m slightly behind. 😁
