I haven’t got a clue and don’t like horses! Budget up to £15 - any ideas please?

Schleich do a nice horse club range. Easy to get on amazon

Jungfraujoch · 01/12/2018 09:05

Thank you - I’ll check that out!

Does she ride/interact with horses or just like them? If she rides and spends time down the stables she may like some grooming brushes or nice riding gloves and socks. If you go to a tack shop, I am sure they will be able to help!

Otherwise, breyer model horses are great and they will have some options to suit your budget- they can be bought easily online.

She does ride regularly but not her own pony. I’m completel6 in the dark with all things horsey! Thanks for suggestions.

Books about horses
Horse stationery
Model horses
Kit for when she goes riding- always worth checking out the Lidl and Aldi middle aisle they sometimes have jodhpurs/gloves etc

tattychicken · 01/12/2018 09:19

You can get a cheap pair of jodhpurs for £15. Riding gloves, socks? Try Rideway and/or Derby House websites.

A horse?

Ploppymoodypants · 01/12/2018 09:20

Oh yes this was me as a child.
How about any of the Jills Gymhana books by ruby ferguson
A horsey fact book
Some child’s riding gloves (look on eBay)

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 01/12/2018 09:22

Good riding gloves, boot liners, her own horse

When I was that age I was obsessed with KM Peyton and her riding books. The Fly by Night ones involved a girl who kept her pony in her back garden Grin

My 10 year old rides and has her own pony so we have bought quite a few bit, some of which might be useful.

Half Chaps

Hat silk (bright/spotty/Pom Pom)

Brushes/starter grooming kit?

Nicer riding jacket/hoodie My DD has all of a sudden discovered all the expensive riding brands Ariat, Toggi, etc something a bit nicer that you wouldn’t buy everyday

Pony Mag subscription

Private riding lesson with good instructor

Riding socks the brighter and more mismatched the better

Will she take part in any shows/hunts etc? Nice show/hacking jacket

Riding gloves

And if all else fails you could just buy the pony!!! Wink

Does she watch Free Rein? The Netflix kids drama set around a stable and a troubled horse called Raven.

My daughter is obsessed with it - they have now released two paperbacks of the series.
