Something to go on top of a small fireplace

We have a very small cast iron fireplace. I'd really like a garland or something similar to go on top. It's less than a metre long. Any ideas?

It would be easy to DIY one if you have access to greenery such as ivy and holly. Otherwise get an artificial one and ponce it up with Poundland battery lights, bells and other bits and pieces. If you want it to overhang the ends and be below the mantel shelf, use butchers hooks otherwise stablise it on top of the mantel with Command hooks.

What is the style of the rest of the room? Is it traditional or modern? What other decorations will be in the room?
We have a small fireplace in one room and I usually just put an enamel jug of festive flowers on there, last year it was eucalyptus sprays with white roses and some red berry sprays. I put a candle at the other end. I wish I had photos from last year!
