Alternative to wine and chocolates

There are a few couples I need to buy token gifts for. They always give me a box of chocs and some wine. This is great as far as I am concerned but it looks a bit stupid me handing back the same.

Can anyone suggest an alternative? Total budget £15-20. As said, it is just a token gift when seeing them over Christmas.

Candles can be problematic for asthmatics. Flowers and plants are nice, luxury food items.

Sometimes it depends on the context eg if at their homes and if you are eating there.

You guys are fabulous. Great ideas here.

I have to give a special mention to mumonashoestring. Your presents sound lovely. Wish someone would buy me stuff like that.

I hate being given panetone, they sit there cluttering the place until the end of February then go in a bin.

arranbubonicplague · 20/12/2018 17:58

posh oat cakes - Peter's Yard crackers - too expensive to buy for myself but delightful...

Why not donate them as soon as you get them then?

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 20/12/2018 18:24

I think all Panetone looks like it comes from Aldi or Lidl or a TK Maxx bargin shelf. I love the stuff but it doesn't lfeel like a " generous" gift.
