As a family with similar aged DCs we like Sorry!, Bananagrams, Labyrinth, Blokus. Monopoly Travel edition (it's over pretty quickly!)

We have 'unlock'. There are a few games in the box but you can only play each once. So we made sure to get different box from our friends in order to swap.
Because of time element, not ideal to play with kids who bicker/debate a lot! Pandemic or another cooperative game would be better.
We are currently having a lot of fun with Colt Express and Potion Explosion and Catane.

clearsommespace · 18/11/2018 07:18

Sorry that was misleading. None of those three games are cooperative just our current favourites.

Dixit
Code names

I spent ages reviewing board games for my 9 and 13 year old DSs and I settled on Pandemic and Ticket to Ride. If they don't have Risk, that is also a good one.

TulipsInbloom1 · 18/11/2018 08:30

Settlers of Catan is great. Plus you can add expansion packs.

rookiemere · 18/11/2018 08:32

Just played Ticket to Ride last night with 12 yr. old DS ( we are that rock and roll)
Does anyone actually do the tunnels and stations ?

Might buy pandemic for Christmas

Annebronte · 18/11/2018 08:37

We like One Night

clearsommespace · 18/11/2018 09:25

rookiemere Are you playing TTR Europe. I try to avoid using stations but they are usually necessary when you play with 4 or 5 players. Not sure how you could play without tunnels, you'd have to do really convoluted routes to reach your destinations. So we always use tunnels.

rookiemere · 18/11/2018 09:57

clearsommeplace thanks for responding. We use the tunnels but not the fancy rules about extra cards. It is the European version so I'll need read up on them.

Neolara · 18/11/2018 10:02

Pandemic

WicketWoo · 18/11/2018 10:08

@rookiemere it's worth persevering with the extra rules. We have both versions and I was sniffy about the extra rules but it does actually add not take away from the original game
