Echo dot, the old one

I’ve bought my oh and dd echo dots for Christmas but the 1st generation ones, does anybody know if the smart plugs and bulbs work with them please?

The new ones are on sale for £25 at the moment. We bought a second generation one for our DS for Christmas but we are returning it now as the new one costs less!

I know the second gem works with the bulbs.

I had Argos vouchers so used them to get these, so I haven’t got the cash to get the new ones from amazon, I really wanted to but my oh the plugs and bulbs to go with it but can’t find an answer if they are compatible.

As far as I know if they're Alexa compatible then it doesn't matter which gen you have.

We have a 1st gen. It works on all the light switches and locks and such

They are also half price in Argos, in-line with Amazon. Could you swap them over for the newest version if your unsure?
