I am in charge of these this year. Am thinking Jamie's panettone bread and butter pudding which I have done many times and is awesome. And maybe something lighter, not sure yet... Can you give me some suggestions please? What are you having? Will make at least 2.

I’m making Christmas pudding and after eight cheesecake from the Jane’s Pattiserie website.

I’m doing a Christmas wreath pavlova as a lighter option. Lots of cream and red berries.
Alongside Christmas pud, and probably a chocolatey option.

Last year I made Ottolenghi's fig, cinnamon and praline pavlova. It was amazing and went down really well. Recipe is easily found on the internet (I got it from my mum's good housekeeping mag).

I never have room for pudding lol

ChippyMinton · 17/11/2018 18:48

Christmas pudding, brandy butter, cream and custard.
And an old-school sherry trifle.

KingPrawnBalls · 17/11/2018 18:50

I second pavlova or an M&S meringue roulade, yum!

Usually we have a Paula Deen banana pudding recipe uses shortbread cookies, bananas and some other very rich ingredients. It’s so good but high calorie so can’t have it too often

We always have trifle, it's the only thing we'll be making this year.

I am doing a white chocolate and cherry spiced cheesecake from Sainsbury’s magazine, and Christmas Pud of course. I am making the JO panettone tart for NYE.

I sometimes do chocolate profiteroles, choc Yule log or sticky toffee puddings for Christmas Day desserts.

I have a spiced apple crumble cheesecake with brandy butterscotch sauce stashed in the freezer - I made it this morning, along with my gingerbread stuffing : ) I'm going to get the Aldi chocolate cake with the breakable dome hiding the little chocolate village for the kids. There will only be 8 of us so that'll be enough.

Thanks all some great ideas. I always make pavlova so needed something different. Can't believe I didn't think of trifle, I have a massive trifle dish!!

Chocolate mousse? Could always put some crushed up candy canes on top - yum!

paranoiamumma · 18/11/2018 09:52

We are having Christmas pud , with Brandy butter ( that's just for my mum )
Then we have a baileys whites chocolate and raspberry cheese cake , but we have the base made out of tortilla wraps as hubby hates biscuit base.
And then mini baked Alaska's mainly for the kids ,

Lucked · 18/11/2018 09:59

I think a roulade or panna cotta are good lighter options.

The spiced apple cheesecake sounds good. Where did you find the recipe for that? And it's freezable you say??

madvixen · 18/11/2018 18:57

I'll be doing Tiramisu Trifle and a Yule Log. And Hubby will get an individual Christmas pud with gingerbread butter

thismeansnothing · 18/11/2018 19:11

Christmas pudding using my grandma's recipe. It's an old local authority recipe from the 60/70s for the school dinners. It's alot lighter and spongy rather than the stogy traditional puddings
