6 YO god daughter - money or voucher ?

I'd like to give my god daughter a money gift as we don't see them much so not sure what they have etc
In the past I've done a book token but was thinking just cash in an initial letter purse. Or is a voucher for a clothes shop better?

I'd give cash, as that way she can spend half and save half.

Cash is good if there’s a 'big' thing being saved for. Then you can add all money gifts together.

I worry cash seems impersonal and at least a voucher shows I’ve paid attention to what shops they’d like but really, everyone likes money best! Xmas Grin

At 6 cash gives a lot more chance of her getting what she wants, clothes shops might not seem very exciting at that age.

I would give cash or a voucher for a toy shop.

Definitely cash

Id say voucher too , toy shop since she is 6,they are all about toys or even claire's as girls love it in there.id ask her mum/dad and see what they say x

I find vouchers a nuisance. You often end up leaving a bit on the card and it never gets spent.

Cash.

Mine at 6 all loved spending pennies on small things of their own.

Comics, sweets, those 50p ride on things at supermarkets, cake stalls, and school fairs.

£5 in cash buys loads when you're 6. A voucher that ties you to a shop, not so much.

Cool, I'll go hard cash then thanks!

I think money in an initial purse would be lovely.

The general advice this year is to not buy gift vouchers unless you are completely certain the retailer will still be there in a few months time.
