DD age 10 has expressed an interest in a hoverboard for Christmas.

I've heard a few horror stories about them bursting into flames....

Has anyone bought one and loved it?

They don’t burst into flames nowadays. They’re great but a bit of a novelty and you need a decent, flat space to ride them.

Also interested in feedback as a hover board is on my daughters wish list.

Given they can't be ridden on public paths and roads, have people that have bought one found they still get ample use out of it? If so....where?!

My dd ten got one last year with the go cart attachment. It's used loads here as we live on a big estate with a park. They all use them or bikes & scooters to get around. I accidentally got dd a 14+ one which is huge & heavy but it's been fine, she just can't carry it 😂

I’ve just bought one for DS. Fingers crossed it’s ok.

You need a very big park close by to use them or an enormous garden. They can't legally use them on the streets which pretty much makes them useless in many places.

^ you cant legally use them in big parks either without the owners permission.
