Are LOL dolls too old for 4.5 year olds?

What do toddler boys like?

I’m really out of touch with this age groups, mine teens. Ave niece and nephew to buy for (budget £20-£25 each)

My ds is not quite 2 yet but he loves anything that makes a noise. I’ve bought him this piano/mic thing from Argos

LOL for a 4 year old is perfect!

DS is 4.5 and the girls he is friends with all love LOL dolls, Barbie, Disney Princesses and Polly Pocket.

When he was 2 he loved things for the bath- bath crayons, Boon pipes, WOW Toys bath toys. In fact all of the WOW toys are a good bet for that age range, he still plays with the recycling truck and combine harvester now.

Ooh bath crayons! gonna steal that idea for ds stocking. I’ve already got the crazy soap (which he will probably eat) but needed some more ideas. Thanks!

I refuse to buy mine a lol doll. I explained to my daughter how wasteful the packaging is, and the damage plastic waste does to sealife. She chose a lottie astronaut doll instead.

She was very happy with her decision.

My nearly 2 yo likes duplo, his brother's lego, painting and drawing, brio train track, wooden animals, his brother's dinosaurs, toy vehicles (all the better if they are noisy), cooking and things that can be moved around. He's getting a toy kitchen and accessories for Christmas and lots of Duplo for his birthday in January.

Other ideas would be sticklebricks, simple jigaws or block puzzles, a scuttlebug (they're around £20), or Playmobil 123

HalfBloodPrincess · 14/11/2018 10:49

Sticklebricks! Never knew they still made them!

Scuttlebugs are £15 in b&m at the minute!

I'm not keen on LOLs myself but the kids (3 & 6) love them and they are very popular at school.

Things we've got our girls - Pomsies, Hairdorables, Wrapples, Our Generation, Sylvanian Families. The 3 year old had a singing Moana doll. The 6 year old had a Mystery Mao.

No idea for boys but I tend to buy our boy relatives (aged between 4 and 9) Lego.

My four year old had her birthday today, things she got which might inspire you:
Grimms rainbow
Soggy doggy (v popular)
Wash bag and princess bubble bath
Play doh
Bead set
Slipper socks
Clothes
Cute keyring for her book bag
Box of malteasers

I don't think she knows what a lol doll is!
