Finding it so hard to know what to get for my son who is 12 at Xmas other than Xbox games.
Just wondering do other 12 year old boys still have toys at Xmas? If so other than Lego what do you get them?

Ds is 9 and he’s not getting any toys other than lego this year ☹️

Similar age and yep no toys but gifts that have gone down well or that he and his mates want, beyond the usual video games
Makey makey and accessories
Laptop covers or custom controllers
Graphic novels and Anime including a book how to draw Anime
Cool tee shirts - DS favours 80s rap or rock bands, his mate likes bonkers patterns,
Concert or sport event tickets
Vans or fancy trainers
Basketball, rugby or footballs still
Skateboard wheels
Their own Spotify account
Those weird bobble heads from movies or tv shows

I'm getting mine gravitrax and dot to dot colouring books so he has something to 'do'.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 13/11/2018 15:44

Mine (13) alway gets a board game. I’m also getting him bloxxels this year.

TwoGinScentedTears · 13/11/2018 15:51

Yes! He's getting begleri, contact juggling balls and a pack of cardistry cards. Skills toys, apparently!

He has also had giant microbes, rick and morty 'merch' box sets of futurama and scrubs, fancy rubix cubes, that have gone down well.

I have an 11 year old. He wants an entire clearout of his room (its pretty bare anyway as we just moved house, so there's very little in there but books and a few figures and stuff) So no toys. He wants (another) monitor, a new keyboard and mouse (of the lightup gaming variety) and some game I've forgotten the name of so I will have to ask him again. He won't entertain the idea of 'toys' so I've got him a gaming t-shirt. a chocolate gaming controller. A wire neon sign maker. Im getting a bit stuck for anything else.

Yes he wants a cuddly Pennywise toy Hmm

jobbymcginty · 13/11/2018 16:10

My dis is just 12 he's never had toys since he was 10'they just sit gathering dust , he gets plenty tech related gifts plus any books he wants

I usually buy a Funko Pop but it's decorative rather than a toy. He likes gadgety stuff like torches, laser pointers and multi-tools. Sites like IWOOT (I want one of those) and Firebox have a stocking filler section that he enjoys.

Similar age, slightly younger, no toys any more.
Computer stuff, watch, gaming stuff, dressing gown, art materials, books.
Last year's surprise hit was a cosy cushion for his bed (pug pattern).

DS1 will be 12 in February. He always gets some Lego and a cuddly toy (Pokemon this year). The rest is mainly books, clothes, board games; sometimes tech, but not this Christmas as there's nothing he needs.

DS is 11.5. He is still into Nerf. He collects them now. I shall get him then digital target and a massive Nerf gun that looks like an army rocket launcher.

I'd suggest ask your boys if they want v bucks for fortnite or something on those lines if they own an Xbox. A map pack or game is also an option. Maybe ask them if there's a toy want, could just find out what they want by asking and then go from there :) Could also get them clothes and gift cards, could give them some cash so they decide what they get. x
