Gorgeous film to watch at the cinema this Christmas?

Me and sil have a tradition of going to the cinema in December for our crimbo evening out. Last year we saw the Dickens thing with Dan Stevens, it was wonderful.

Any great movies out this year? Doesn't have to have a Christmas theme but ideally a period drama with much gorgeousness and romance.

So no slashers, horrors, car chases or fart jokes :)

The new Mary Poppins is out on the 21st December and I imagine they will be aiming for the Christmassy vibe in a big budget way.

Omg, I'll either love or hate that! Mary Poppins is my all time fave.

Worried 😯

I would say Emily Blunt is pretty great casting, and the other cast members are excellent. Just depends how high Disney are going to ramp up the schmaltz-ometer.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms looks pretty spectacular.

I was going to say The Nutcracker, I’m debating on taking our DD’s to see it, the 6yo would enjoy it but I’m unsure about our 8 (9 at Christmas) yo. She would rather watch Jurassic Park or a Harry Potter.

Can't wait for Mary Poppins, it looks great!

Also going to see The man who invented Christmas with the family the week before Christmas.Really nice to hear good review.

Would like to see the nutcracker too.

The Nutcracker is a fantastic film. Really magical and beautifully filmed. I took DS(14) to see it and he enjoyed it too. Kiera Knightley is a little irritating but Helen Mirren more than makes up for it.
