Jeans for 15 year old DS - Do I go branded?

DS15 is JUST beginning to have an awareness of clothes (when he occasionally gets out of his onesie Hmm) - I want to get him some jeans but have a limited budget and have already got him a T-shirt and hoodie from Jack Wills (30% off event this weekend). Which brands/style are popular for his age group without going full-on designer?

H&M or zara?

CoatTails · 11/11/2018 09:20

Jack and Jones jeans are good.

Whisky2014 · 11/11/2018 09:24

Levi? Superdry

SoupDragon · 11/11/2018 09:27

DSs like Topman jeans.

SoupDragon · 11/11/2018 09:28

(They're 19 and 17)

River Island is another shop they like to buy from although I don't think they get jeans from there.

Thanks everyone, will get busy on google!

My 18 year old DS wears crosshatch jeans, I get them cheaper on the m&m direct website www.mandmdirect.com/02/fts/?search=crosshatch jeans&fhsortby=+mandmgbp_sellingprice

My DSS is 15, and very brand / clothes aware (unfortunately!)
However jeans wise him and his friends aren’t bothered by the brand, so he wears skinny ones from next, Black and normally jeans colour.
Brand wise he loves....Lyle and Scott, Lacoste etc

You can pick up cheap Lyle and Scott shirts from m&m direct

I don't think you need to go branded for jeans. I think the style and fit are more important. To be fair neither of my teen DSs are particularly label junkies, but from what I see the tops are more important. A lot of the boys were wearing girls jeans for a while to get them skinny enough but I think the manufacturer s have caught up now. Mine like Next jeans but I think any of the brand's mentioned are fine too. Asda jeans are meant to be good but we don't have an Asda.

For my ds (who is very fashion conscious and usually costs me a fortune) actually likes next kids spray on jeans he is 5.9 and age 15 fit him well.. they all seem to like jeans that look like they might as well be leggings at the moment! the biggest bonus for me is they only cost £16-£24 ish.

H&M are good.
At 15 he'll be growing like a weed, if you buy him £££ jeans , turn your back and they'll be flappin' round his ankles !

Snoopytwist2 · 11/11/2018 13:57

Some brilliant suggestions, thank you - he hasn't really grown into his body yet, he's all legs but no waist!

My 15yr is brand obsessed but just skinny black ones - I do H & M.

Tops inc coats are all North Face or Nicci

LucheroTena · 14/11/2018 08:30

Mine like a brand but not bothered about branded jeans. Recently they’ve liked jeans from Topshop and Levi (last one branded!)

Shockers · 14/11/2018 08:33

DS (18) wears Top Man jeans. I have bought him Jack Wills jeans in the past, but he didn’t like the fit.

Brandnewstart · 14/11/2018 08:33

Mine is wearing skinny jeggings from the women’s section of primark. They are £4 at the moment! He does wear labels shirt / t shirt wise. eBay is good if you’re on a budget.

Trills · 14/11/2018 08:45

If he's starting to be aware of clothes, might he prefer a "voucher" promising that you'll buy a pair of jeans of his choice, rather than a pair of jeans already bought that might not be exactly what he wants?

LucheroTena · 14/11/2018 08:54

Agree with Trills teens are fussy about the fit. You probably need to get him to try on.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2018 09:04

He needs to try them on. Jeans need to fit the way they want them to. Give him a budget and let him go shopping.

Sundayblues13 · 14/11/2018 09:08

Try m and m direct website they sell reduced designer clothing have picked up some good bits or try tk max

EdinaMonsoon · 14/11/2018 15:05

All legs & no waist: Topman are perfect! Both of my sons (14 & 18) love their denim and they have loads of styles & washes to choose from.
