Garland for staircase handrail only

I’ve got a handrail for my stairs but the bit where spindles would be is filled in. Any ideas how I can attach a garland . Usually use blue tac and tinsel but would so like a proper garland.

Have you tried command hooks?

No. How do they attach to rail? Rail is curved. Can they attach to wall?

They need a flat surface to stick to, but if I’m imagining your stairs correctly, you could attach them just under the rail on the filled-in part. Either hang the garland from them or put them on the inside and use fishing line to hang the garland a bit higher.

They are brilliant. They stick firmly but if you pull the tab they just come off without a mark. I use them for all sorts. They come in a range of sizes too.

Thanks for this. I’ll give them a go.
