DH wants (me!) to put the Christmas tree up now?! Way too soon?

I always do the Christmas tree, but am getting increasingly less mobile (Heavily preggers) -

I want him to empty the cupboard this weekend (that the xmas tree from last year is in....going again with that one this year) - so I can move some stuff from 14 month old DD1's room, transition her in there from our room and put new cot for new baby in our room....(that seemed like a long explanation...…!!)

Anyway, DH just said 'save shifting the xmas stuff to the garage that were going to be needing in three weeks anyway, why not just stick it up now - be easier for you aswell...' -

It will be easier, but isn't it just way to early!!!!!??? (btw I really dont mind doing the tree, thats not an issue, he really is crap at it).

Way way too soon??

Yes definitely too soon in my opinion I put it up 4th Dec and I think that is soon enough x

ScreamingValenta · 06/11/2018 16:17

Ha, I understand his very masculine logic, but no, it's way too soon. A month too soon in fact at the very earliest .

FuckedItAgain · 06/11/2018 16:22

Too soon IMO. I'd be sick of the sight of it come December if I put mine up now. I wait till the middle of December.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 06/11/2018 16:23

You’ll be bored of looking at it by December if you put it up now.

1969angel · 06/11/2018 16:29

Lol put tree and all your decs up finish Christmas shopping and enjoy rest of pregnancy u seem to have a busy time ahead get dh to help X good luck

Unicornandbows · 06/11/2018 16:32

1st of December :)

MinecraftHolmes · 06/11/2018 16:34

He’s mad! Your Dd is the absolute worst age for having the tree up for a prolonged length of time - you’ll be sick of telling her to leave it alone by St. Andrews night 😂

TheMerryWidow1 · 06/11/2018 16:38

ha he is worried he will end up with the job nearer the time!

MaverickSnoopy · 06/11/2018 16:53

How pregnant are you?

I wouldn't yet but if it's tricky I probably wouldn't wait as long as you usually do. So I would either bring it forward a bit, or get it out now but leave to the side, or put it up and decorate and the put a duvet cover over it.

I have a 2 week old (and other children) and despite having done half of my Christmas shopping, am seriously panicking about how much there is still to do - I say make things as easy as you can but no, I wouldn't put the tree up yet.

Bumbumtaloo · 06/11/2018 16:54

Tbh his logic makes sense to me and I’d just put them up. I’m a nightmare for wanted to put my decorations up though Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/11/2018 18:04

It would be insane. Your DH has utterly lost the plot. The end.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 06/11/2018 18:12

"Easier for you" knob off matey.

haverhill · 06/11/2018 18:14

Waaaaaayyyyyy too early!! Shock

greendale17 · 06/11/2018 18:22

Of course it is too soon, but then you already knew that Hmm

Tadda · 07/11/2018 08:38

OK - has been agreed way too soon for the tree up, Dec 1st it is! Your totally right about trying to keep DD1 away from it will be a nightmare for that length of time, and will be sick of it in three weeks - good reasoning thanks!

(although I am going to make sure the lights are at least unraveled soon.....nightmare 'this way, that way' row last year!) - some sneaky snowmen and a candle have appeared on the dining table...plus M&S advent calendar so I'm really not complaining about that one :)

Chances are I'm not here on Xmas day (around due date!) Really hope I am but maybe turkey sarnies in hospital....
