Make up for my 13yo DD

I really haven't got a clue! Not into wearing make up myself except for special occasions but my DD already has a skin care routine (which is more than I do!) and I would like to get her some basics so she can experiment. Can anyone recommend some ranges that are OK for teenage skin and fairly cool. Was wondering about an advent calendar with a whole load of beauty stuff in but I wouldn't know where to start so I need some informed advice , what should I get as a starter kit?

It's available from Superdrug and you get a lot for your money, which means that a teen can afford to top up from pocket money too in future. It gets pretty decent reviews, and they basically steal ideas and colours from the high end manufacturers. I see they do a 12 days of Christmas thing which might be just the ticket.

Will have a look now - it's ridiculous that I don't know about this stuff!!

Superdrug staff are pretty helpful too.

In terms of budget cosmetics brands I really rate NYX. Boots do a NYX advent calendar with all makeup, the calendar is called Sugar Trip, 50 quid may be a bit steep though.

P.S; I would also get her a good set of brushes and a beauty blender, Real Techniques Everyday essentials set from Boots is good for £20. And a brush cleaning mat, they are just a few pounds from boots or wilko, they make all the difference keeping stuff (and her lovely skin!) clean.
