Got the Christmas booze today at Asda. Do you think it will make it to the first day of Christmas x

Ooh, what did you get?

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 04/11/2018 21:16

No way am I buying anything this early.
Tequila rose and pink Gin with mixers are on my list

Therunecaster · 04/11/2018 21:44

I got 12 bottles of prosecco, 6 white and 6 red (it's 25% off) 1 bottle of gin and vodka and a bottle of the yellow snowball stuff. I also got a bag of walnuts and hazelnuts which I'm tucking into now..

I do this every year and replace it several times every year!!! Booze, nuts, crisps, advent calendars....

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/11/2018 22:22

Where do you get your tequila rose? Hard to find round here.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 04/11/2018 23:43

Amazon, pricey but it’s a gift to me so doesn’t count.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/11/2018 14:40

definitely won't last until December, let alone Christmas Day! No booze for me this year, again, as I'm pregnant, again!

mrsoutnumbered · 05/11/2018 15:08

There is no way I would have the willpower!! Haha

I usually get Buck's Fizz for Christmas morning, Prosecco for Christmas dinner. Then beer and red wine for the evenings. May get a bottle of gin or something too!

sonlypuppyfat · 05/11/2018 15:11

Asti spumanti is my favourite drink, everyone moans it's too sweet. I also like port

MartyMcFly1984 · 05/11/2018 15:12

My god, I’ve still got last years in the fridge... I do not belong here

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/11/2018 17:31

I would ignore booze I don't drink.
DH , otoh ....... I'd need to hide his.
I'm going to buy a party slab of J2O in Costco and hide it from the DC (in the garage )

Ggirl27 · 05/11/2018 17:38

I could have written the exact same post 70isaLimitNotaTarget!

anniehm · 05/11/2018 17:42

Unless I hide it it will be gone - have students DD's in the house and a dh who indulges them!

BiddyPop · 05/11/2018 17:55

I bought 4 bottles of rioja on special a couple of months ago and found it over the weekend in the wardrobe - I put it away for festive drinking.

I got a nice bottle of cremant on offer about a month ago - 1 for a present that night and the other for Christmas for ourselves.

A party slab of J2O sounds like an excellent plan! Must see if I can get a cash and carry card to do that! (Dd turns teen over Christmas...so something special for her is getting to be a necessity).

Otherwise, I need to get my “Christmas dinner wine” as I like to get 2 really nice bottles and dh cant drink red anymore.

Some seasonal beers, regular lager, a bottle of amaretto and some white party wine - which I’ll gather when specials are on mostly, and may not even drink it all but ready to be sociable when anyone calls.

We still have lots of. Port from last year which I checked by having a hot one last night - it’s still fine! 😂

homeishere · 05/11/2018 18:21

I got 16 free bottles of wine from Virgin when I took their tv and broadband deal earlier this year. Tucked away until Christmas.

Arrowfanatic · 05/11/2018 18:39

I'm waiting for all the good deals, in the meantime I'm trailing all the wines and fizz from the new Lidl we have to see what I can get and save some money too.

We will have 5 adults to cater for, plus a teenager and 3 primary school children so it'll be alcohol, fizzy pop and J20.

Therunecaster · 06/11/2018 19:14

And....we have lost a bottle of prosecco to celebrating making it through Tuesday!!!Shock

goose1964 · 06/11/2018 21:52

We have some posh wine bought on offer throughout he year, DH has ordered some festive beers from a couple of small companies.

We'll also be making up some after eight vodka. It makes an amazing cocktail with Bailey's and Kahlua, even my booze fussy DS loves it

jocktamsonsbairn · 08/11/2018 00:32

Oooft! That's the Christmas Bailey's started...

Lovemusic33 · 08/11/2018 11:56

I don’t really drink much, I still have a bottle of baileys from last Christmas 🤣 booze would be safe in my house, chocolate is a whole other story, I’m bought selection boxes and tubs of celebrations yesterday, they are still in my car, I need to get them out and find somewhere to hide them without being tempted to eat any.

MyNameIsNotSteven · 08/11/2018 14:15

So far we've bought and polished of 12 bottles of wine, a litre of Baileys and another of gin Blush Next year I'm definitely not buying the Christmas booze in September.

fenneltea · 08/11/2018 14:27

I just bought a mince pie flavoured baileys type drink in M&S for 6 pounds instead of 12. They also had chocolate and coconut flavour and another one that I can't remember. Port was half price too.

BiddyPop · 08/11/2018 15:41

I just went and bought the wine for Christmas dinner today - it's only for DH and I but I like to get 2 bottles of a really nice one as we are on relaxation mode that day!

Thinking about it:

Stocks:
1 bottle cremant (French bubbles)
2 bottles chardonnay
4 bottles Rioja for visitors/casual drinking over the holidays (and I have 2 bottles of a nicer Rioja put away as well)
4 bottles Lidl prosecco (and 1 nicer Lidl prosecco) for visitors
2 bottles Sauvignon blanc (for visitors but they are everyday stock and may disappear)
1 bottle French Lemonade (DD's choice - she hates Schloer etc)
Port
Gin

Need to get:
Few craft beers for DH
Amaretto
White wine for visitors - Sauvinon blanc or pinot grigio most likely
1 box lager
6 pack of Guinness
J2O (seems very hard to get these days)
Some mixers, tonic, coke, 7up etc
