DSD6 is usually the easiest person for me to buy for, but I'm struggling this year!
Can I please have your ideas?

She doesn't really need a big gift (has a bike, one games console that she shares with her Dad, a TV in her room etc).

Have ordered her a few DVDs and a couple of board games but would really like some unusual ideas. I was looking at Dream Tents but the reviews are mixed....

what about marine monsters? they come in a little kit, and make a great 1st pet (very easy to care for, just keep them in sunlight and feed with food provided) but kids enjoy taking care of them. link

Fur real or hatchimal? They’re not terribly lovely but my dds loved them. Crafts4kids or giftsforlittlehands always have something - paint your own silk scarf, djeco pens etc.

Vicious2018 · 03/11/2018 13:50

Aldi will have Hatchimals at £29.99 soon. We got one for dd6 last year and she still play with it.

All great ideas there, thank you! Have pooped them on my list 😀

My 6 yo dd got roller skates with light up wheels for her birthday 😀.

gladstonefive · 03/11/2018 18:03

DD3 is 6.

We are getting her:
Main presents (we give these as gifts from me and DP)
LOL dolls and dolls house (expensive and may seem like tat but DD loves them- can get them much cheaper, even new ones, on eBay- I brought a couple of balls of them for £5 each the other day and they retail for about £10)
Barbie dolls, barbie clothes and Barbie creatures care can

Other presents
Scruff a luvs
Hatchimal
Fingerling
Initial unicorn backpack (also got this for DD2 who is 12)
Clothes
Monopoly and Game of Life junior

Will probably buy a few more little bits for her but that’s about it

My twin girls got roller skates for their 6th birthday and it was a big hit. They love them and use them almost everyday. I second roller skates.

For Christmas ours are getting a Flik Flak watch from Swatch. Aquabeads, a unicorn Fingerling and some clothes and accessories for their Our Generation dolls.

Would she like Lego? My son is 5 and at that age it's perfect, seems a shame a lot of girls don't discover it. So great for fine motor skills, following instructions independently, spatial awareness etc.

There are a lot of Lego Friends sets that have girl characters and appealing themes.

Givemeallyourcucumber · 03/11/2018 18:18

My DD who is nearly 6 is getting Lego.

SimplyPut · 03/11/2018 18:18

Scooter, barbie, lol dolls, sylvanian, tickets to a show or day out?

FissionChips · 03/11/2018 18:37

Lego
Kinex
Dress up clothes
Books

Didyeeaye · 03/11/2018 18:39

My DN is 6 and loves LOL surprises. They have a range of dolls, pets, baby sisters as well as large houses and other accessories x

Wormwoodm · 03/11/2018 18:40

My 6 year old loves anything craft, lol dolls, slime, poopsie unicorn thing, anything from smiggle or Claire’s accessories.

Jimpix · 03/11/2018 18:42

We had our first outing to the local skating rink this morning...big hit! Some leisure centres do sessions in the holidays too.

With her birthday money, she got a Scruff a Luv (or whatever it is 🤷🏽‍♀️) . She adores that too but I was slightly bemused as I sat there hair drying the damn thing 😂.

nuttynutjob · 03/11/2018 19:04

These are the gifts we have considered

LOL underwraps
Rainbocorns
Harry Potter Merch (like the Mattel dolls, keyrings)
Polly Pocket World
Shopkins Playset
Insect Lore Butterfly Garden- although the butterflies can only be delivered between March to September

Other suggestions:

Tube Superstar
Monkey Mania
SMIGGLE stationery set
SMIGGLE drinks bottle
SMIGGLE media pouch/ wallet

OutwardBound2016 · 03/11/2018 21:10

Gladstonefive be careful with lol dolls on eBay last year I brought 6 of there and they were all fakes fell apart when my daughter opened them and one even had a massive hole in the face where the nose should of been 🙈 I have learnt for this year and waited till Argos had 3for2 x

Cornwall73 · 04/11/2018 07:35

My B/G twins turned 5 in August. I thought I’d peek at this thread for ideas but other than Lego and board games I haven’t a clue what the other suggestions are. Never heard of them of th stuff you are mentioning! Obviously I am very out of touch with what to get kids Confused

Thebookswereherfriends · 04/11/2018 07:52

Sylvanian families is on my 6 yr olds list. Will also get her more Lego.

vodkaanddietcokeplease · 04/11/2018 09:50

So many replies!

Thank you all 😊

I daren't risk roller skates or roller blades as she has two left feet 😬 how she hasn't broken a limb yet I don't know, she still hasn't mastered her scooter!

She loves LOL dolls but uses her pocket money to save and buy those and we have loads. She's getting the house at her Mums, so I don't want another here and I'm trying to limit the amount of plastic tat she has in her room as baby DD will be joining her in her room soon.

She does love Lego so may get her some more of that.

Have also got her Game of Life Junior so will look for some more board games!

Thank you all for taking the time to reply!

We have got our 6yo tri-skates, they start off in a triangle shape and then you can move the wheels so they become rollerblades. I’m sure I’ve made a big mistake though as both of mine are clumsy!

I was going to say the same as Misstomrs2016 about ebay and LOL dolls, I remember a massive issue last year with parents trying to find them a bit cheper and there were so many fakes, some not much cheaper either!
