Any ideas?
We did a Christmas market in York last year which was lovely but wondering about this year.
Thanks

a few ideas:

ice skating (google pop up rinks in your area) and then going out to dinner

you could go along to the Meraki christmas festival and christmas market, which is being held in st albans. it's the first time they are being linked, and there is said to be rides, virtual reality Santa’s grotto experience, Christmas movies, skating, an ice bar, + more.

IME visitor attractions are often as quiet as anything on Christmas Eve so I would consider nice day out to a zoo or aquarium or National Trust property.
Depends where you are in the country and how far you want to travel really. The Eden project in Cornwall is always beautifully decorated at Christmas, as are all the shops in London!

Wicken fen has a Father Christmas trail from 8th Dec. I’d be heading there if I lived that way and had LO’s. Lovely winter walk with wildlife.

Chatsworth Christmas market is usually lovely. Haven’t been for a few years but they had the house set up like Narnia and the kids loved it.
