Date night jar ideas?

DP is always complaining we don't do enough together, the DC all go to grandparents once a month so I thought I'd do a jar (or a coupon book or something) of 12 things for us to do together on those nights that are a bit more than 'get a bottle of wine and a takeaway' which is what we do now

So far I have:

  • do a 3 course dinner crawl (starter in one place, walk to the next for main, walk to the next for desert)
  • go out for breakfast
  • at home spa night (give each other massages, have a bath together, face masks etc)

... that's it!

Ideally I'd like a mix of at home and going out and a mix of cheap and a bit more expensive plus some really easy ones for the inevitable can't really be arsed nights

Can anyone help me with any ideas?

Movie evening at home with popcorn and pizza.

Put up and decorate Christmas tree as a surprise for DC returning.

Cinema and meal out

Watch a theatre production (local one if possible)

Oh cinema and the theatre is a good one thankyou
Movie nights at home is our go to so I'm looking for things that are a little bit different, and the kids would never forgive us if we put the Xmas tree up without them ha

Thankyou Smile

Play a board game together?

Fluffyears · 01/11/2018 10:35

Naked twister lol

Could you do the starter and main idea at home and one of you do starter and dessert and one of you do main then coffee & chocs etc.

Card games inc poker or board games. Could make them more adult eg strip twister.

Escape the room outing?
Interactive theatre
Unusual eats (so go to a restaurant which serves food that you haven't tried before)
Haunted walk/house (for October!)
If you're into wine/beer - go to a tasting?

Ten pin bowling never appeals to us but when we go we really enjoy it.

A wonderful life at the cinema is always a good shout at Xmas time.

Ice skating at one of the outdoor ice rinks that pop up all over near Christmas?

A new activity together? Climbing? Kayaking? Surfing?

Explore your local area like a tourist - walking tour? Segway tour? Haunted tour? Etc

Easy ones. Local cocktail bar. Pub quiz.

Walk/visit the dogs at a local rescue.

One of those cooking classes where you get to eat the results.

Local brewery/winery/distillery tour

has he got no ideas? I don't want to be that MNtter, but when did you accept the promotion to Entertainments Manager??

All good suggestions so far, but if he is moaning, then maybe he could make an effort to make a few bookings or do a little bit of thinking.

I'd have a look on some of your local voucher sites...Groupon and the like, it's always better to have a nice night out at half price :o
