How to stop Christmas wreath being stolen?

Anyone suggest how I can secure our Christmas wreath to our new front door which has nothing to hang it on? The long handle is on one side.
There is no knocker to tie it onto which I used to cable tie the wreath onto. Someone tried to wrench it off late one evening last year off our old door but luckily gave up. (Id put about 4 cable ties on it luckily).

I’ve seen those things you can hang it on over the door but feel it isn’t secure enough. Or if I hang it on how to secure it?

I know it’s only a wreath but it’ll be annoying if it’s stolen. TIA.

Years ago someone stole my doormat. A very basic cheap doormat. So yes, I can totally understand why you would want to secure your wreath

It's awful Sad

We've never had our wreath taken, our road in general seems to escape, we think because we have drives &/or fenced front gardens. It's the new build estates that, along with the road side houses in the village centre, are always targeted.

I can’t imagine anyone stealing a wreath.
When I make ours I put a long hanging ribbon on it so,itbpasses over the top of the door and fixes to a nail on the inside of the door. I simply don’t want nails sticking in the front of the door not because anyone is going to steal it.

I can’t imagine anyone stealing a wreath.

Anyone remember the thread a few years ago where the OP had her wreath stolen and then saw it hanging on her neighbour's door Shock
Everyone was telling her to steal it back but I can't remember what happened.

Last year I spent £60 and went to a local florist to make my own wreath and had proseco and mince pies it was amazing, about 7-10days later wreath was gone. I was gutted. Not just because of the cost but because I had done it myself. I won’t bother this year. I would rather spend that money on more mulled wine 🍷

@KittensAndCake - yes, I remember that thread, and iirc, she did go and take it back, and then fixed it far more firmly to her door.

Over door hook with a chain round and lock? It will at least stop opportunists. So sad that you even have to consider taking such actions over a Christmas decoration.
